A few weeks ago, we got to do something I’ve been wanting to try since I got to Japan, Nagashi Somen. This bizarre noodle “river” is made using bamboo and is really an interesting experience. Especially popular during Japan’s hot summers, Nagashi Soumen is something you should definitely check out while travelling in Japan. It’s usually served with fresh tempura, and is a great way to cool down. It can be a little hard to find restaurant’s that do this inside of the Tokyo area, so we headed out to Kamakura to check out Chayakado. This place was super friendly, and super delicious. Definitely recommend checking it out if you want to have a truly unique noodle eating experience.

  1. I love it when Ten-chan is in the videos!! Question from the ignorant foreigner: When is 食べ歩き ok? I have just always read on forums that that's rude to do in Japan, but it never really made sense to me when there's sometimes a lot of food stands around. Educate me for my next trip please!

  2. I appreciate your use of a whole number rating system. Don't make a 10 point scale then give a X.5 rating to something.
