Since my friends went to camp Fuji, climbing Mt. Fuji really kept popping up in my mind. I’ve always wanted to climb it as a kid. I planned the trip about a month earlier in June when I was stuck on base with nothing to do for the weekend. Plans definitely changed and now Herrera got stationed in Camp Fuji, my friend Yensen got stationed up at JWTC so he was my new buddy, and the people that left for Camp Fuji like Turner, Paubel, and Luu came back that same weekend we left. We turned in the paperwork and got packed up. We left base Friday July 1 and got to the old base. We woke up at 5 and ended up taking a taxi all the way to Naha Airport. We took off around 10:00 and landed in Tokyo around 12:00. We wandered around and got to the Bunka Hostel and they helped store our luggage and give us a map as we explored the area. We went to Senso Ji Temple which is Tokyo’s oldest Buddhist Temple. It receives over 30 million worshippers and tourists a year. We explored around and got Omikuji, we prayed, we cleansed ourselves, and followed traditions of the temple. We also visited Hikan Inari Shrine to the side. We went back and found a Japanese steak house to eat at and had an amazing steak for less than $20. The hostel pointed us in the right direction to go and find a evening cruise to go to Tokyo bay and watch the towers and skyscrapers and rainbow bridge. Tokyo is full of amazing architecture. On the next day we went to Shibuya to go walk on the cross walk and get the bus tickets to get to Mt. Fuji.
Things I got crossed off my bucket list~
– Go to Tokyo
– Visit Senso ji Temple
– Go on a evening cruise
– Sleep in a Hostel
– Cross the famous cross walk in Shibuya
I do not own this song, the song is Cloud 9 by Valesco
I’ve been trying to upload this video since that weekend and today I finally got it!
