I had some time before getting on the Shinkansen at JR Kokura Station, so I took a walk around the area.
I took a walk for about an hour and saw a ferry terminal and a soccer stadium.

☆This is the place to go☆
◆The town of Kokura was much bigger than expected.
◆ It is close to 15 minutes by Shinkansen from Hakata. Moreover, since the Shinkansen non-reserved seats are competing with buses between Hakata and Kokura, the discounted fares are cheap.
JPY2,160 yen(USD$ 15.6) for unreserved seats
(3,460 yen for reserved seats)
◆Kokura Station is bigger than I imagined.
◆ Kokura Station is a great Leiji Matsumoto. After all, it’s a train station, so you can see illustrations of Galaxy Express 999 here and there. There is a bronze statue on the bench at the Shinkansen exit. (It appears at the beginning and end of this video)
◆The “Manga Museum” in “Aru Aru City” is also plainly amazing. I haven’t made it into a video, but I think it’s the best for manga lovers. It is a recommended place when you come to Kokura.
◆If you have been to Hakata, please visit Kokura next time.
