Yap is Japan’s forgotten pacific island. On the 50th anniversary of their national day, Yapese people continue their traditions to venerate their roots and natural surroundings. Yet, tourism is dwindling on island the Japanese government recorded just 4,000 annual visitors between 2010 and 2017.
