In Poland 18 years and you are full adult 😀
26:42 If I see anything that says "women only", I'm not approaching that area unless a situation calls for it.
28:44 I may have an idea on where exactly you are going with this.
31:22 So, you were lured into a "Venus fly trap" situation!
31:33 That is the "lure" before it springs its trap…on your wallet!
In the Bahamas we can drink at 18yrs old
In Croatia the age for buying and smoking cigarettes, as well as buying and drinking alcohol is eighteen.
In Britain it's 16 for cigarettes and 18 for alcohol.
It's pretty doubtful that a cigarettes' butt would cause a fire with a wooden house as trees evolved to be resistant to fire and I believe wood used for houses are also treated to be more resistant to catching fire. Maybe if the wood is really old it could happen.
Fortunately here in Ireland/UK it's 18yrs as the legal age to drink alcohol
Thanks.
Hi Shogo-san, do you have any tips for more shy, introverted people, who are looking to visit Japan? What places should I avoid? What places should I visit? What activities do you think one can do, while it’s relatively quiet and there are few people around? Should I rather visit major cities, smaller towns or the quiet countryside?
One important note that I don't see brought up often. If you have T-Mobile, many of their unlimited plans have coverage in Japan and you don't even need to change anything on your phone
does this mean like jogging as well can you have a bottle of water and job?
in the states you can drink in some places in trains as well
The problem I had in Japan was with the portable Wi-Fi because it needed to be charged. I shared it with my friend, and that drained the battery. Luckily T-Mobile (my phone provider) had a great connection even outside Tokyo and Kyoto. But definitely, a SIM card is the best. And yes!! I absolutely love Kyoto the most during my travel and want to explore more of the city. So please do more videos whenever you can, Shogo!
THEY HAVE TRASH CANS FOR SMOKING okay i live in the us and when i am walking around the city near me the small town i live in i will find a cig or two and in the city i can count hundreds why do we have trash cans for that in the states :0
On the downside of going to tattoo-friendly onsen would be you're taking a bath with Yakuzas so..
i mixed up the words jakuzi and yakuza, now im in a hot tub with the Japanese mafia
Is it a lot to ask, when we run into trouble for example, getting tickets or finding where to go at the train station, and ask a stranger for direction? Are they usually tio busy to help? Is it rude to ask?
Yo you are a really cool guy
Shogo you might not realise it but foreigners living in Japan have to carry their zairyucard all the time with them. And police stops often foreigners to check if they have the card or not. If you dont carry it with you you could get in big problems Also foreigners are often stoped by the police if they are riding bicycles to be checked if they might have stolen the bicycle.
🦶京
Excellent video.
Also I love seeing what's normal for ppl in Japan.
"You guys don't get smiles in McDonald's???" Was my favourite one hehe
I am happy to see two of my favorite Japan vloggers in one video! Thanks for this video, Shogo! Maybe you two should do a collab in the future.
This is one of my absolute favorite channels.
I think some of the differences, like police being allowed to check your ID and being acceptable to check your pockets it's based on how the society sees them, i'd bet Japanese officers are well mannered and don't mean any harm, while in western countries police officers can have an ugly attitude and abuse their power
I would so love a travel or cultural thing if you do it. We are planning on coming to Kyoto in the next 3 years.
Being a movie nerd, I really want to go to the Toei Studios Park. The old commercial for AMEX in the US said "Don't leave home without it" outside the US it's bloody useless most places.
You would be great at leading cultural tours in Kyoto! You MUST do that!
Wow! The rules for eating on the street seem to be very strict. But I could live with that. Drinking water should not be controlled. If it's HOT then what's the problem!
Yeah I'm in New Zealand and the drinking age is 18 over here, it confuses me that in the states you have to wait till your 21.
Interesting! So no tatoos allowed in the majority of public baths. For me, that is absolutely no issue. But for so many people born after 1980 in the U.S. that is a huge issue!
I don't smoke. But I find it very interesting the way Japan is dealing with smokers. Where are they allowed and not allowed? Very nerdy interesting!
11:50 I am from Germany and the drinking age is 16 for weak stuff and 18 for strong alcohol once I was in a restaurant with my class when I was 14 and some just ordered vodka and the waiters just didn’t ask how old they were(14)
I don't understand why you can't just use your data under a VPN instead of using the public Wi-fi?
Since 5G is a thing, a lot of western Communication Network companies provide Unlimited Data to be used with phones now in many, many densely urban locations around the world, so I'm pretty sure Tokyo, along with other major cities in Japan would be included.
Why is there such a big deal over Wi-fi?
Kind sounds like Japan is stuck in place from 10 years ago.
Have you ever had a real duel with real katanas
Regarding wifi access in Japan, one way to deal with the issue is to get temporary international roaming added to your phone. This will allow you to use your phone for calls and text as well as internet access just like you would at home. This is what I did when I went to Japan a few years ago and had no problems. It's also worth noting that some hotels will also provide you with a room phone that's basically a cel phone that you can take with you during your stay. So that's something to look into when looking for a hotel to stay in.
If you plan on taking the train a lot on a trip to Japan I recommend getting your tickets ahead of time. I forget the name of it but there's a form of travel pass that you can buy ahead of time that will allow you to take the trains on nearly every line, including the bullet trains. You order the pass online or over the phone, forget which, you pick it up at the designated location, and you take it with you when you go to Japan. It saves a lot of time and effort and it also allows you to skip the lines getting into the boarding area since there's a special lane for pass holders and all you have to do is flash your pass at the attendant in the booth alongside the lane.
A tattooed gaijin tourist going to a tattoo friendly onsen filled with yakuza sounds like the start of a fish out of water comedy.
I am a obngoing master of the sword called vdf . A obngoing master is there a master to learn katana? In Germany? I dont want to Go to a moron. Is there a master in Germany of katana? I want to learn.
We are looking forward to visiting too. We are currently planning to arrive in July 23. Please do host an cultural experience .
Azming work
I don't smoking to
In the UK its 5 years old in private prems, 16 outside but u can not buy it yourself and 18 u can buy and drink anywhere
a lot of video's are the same even on the same channel , how many times have you talked about , onsen, work life balance, that it is a cash based society, elder people's mindset on things, why no english etc etc, it is getting repetitive.. this is a problem with all japanese ytubers /streamers
I'm from Ireland 🇮🇪
We can drink at 18
in my country u can smoke anywhere outside , but not inside which makes more sense 2 me.
the thing that nobody talks about is smoking in your own apartment or house.
As someone who's lived in Japan for over 8 years now, the idea of needing cash for almost everything is a bit overblown. The only things I consistently need cash for is paying bills and topping up my Suica card. And for the latter, you can actually do it if you have a phone that is Suica compatible and also has some way to store your credit card on your phone. I've found that "bulk" stores that have cheap prices are often cash-only though, probably part of the reason they're cheap. But whenever I go to the supermarket or pharmacy, I'm able to use my credit card, no problem. Daiso used to be cash-only, but a lot of them take credit cards now.
Shogo You have to collaborate with him please!!
I AM IN LOVE WITH YOUR CHANNEL😆😆😆
