POSSIBLY THE WORLD’S MOST ROMANTIC AND WHIMSICAL RESTAURNT, THE INN AT LITTLE WASHINGTON IS A LUXURY COUNTRY INN AND RESTAURANT LOCATED IN WASHINGTON, VIRGINIA. PATRICK O’CONNELL,”THE POPE OF AMERICAN CUISINE” FOUNDED THE INN IN A FORMER GARAGE IN 1978. IT HAS BEEN A MEMBER OF THE RELAIS & CHÂTEAUX HOTEL GROUP SINCE 1987.
IN 2018, MICHELIN AWARDED THE INN AT LITTLE WASHINGTON ITS HIGHEST ACCOLADE OF THREE STARS, RESERVED FOR “EXCEPTIONAL CUISINE WORTH A SPECIAL JOURNEY.” THE INN REMAINS THE FIRST AND ONLY THREE STAR RESTAURANT IN THE NATION’S CAPITAL AND THE ONLY MICHELIN-RATED RESTAURANT IN VIRGINIA.

This has been on our Bucket List for over 20 years. I was a huge fan of the Travel Channel Show (when the travel channel was actually about travel) Great Hotels with Samantha Brown. The Show visited historic and special hotels around the country. And The Inn at Little Washington always seemed so whimsical and it always stood out as a Must Do. We Made the hour and a half drive from Washington DC and drove though the magnificent Shenandoah Valley to get to the whimsical Inn at Little Washington. Every inch of this place is decorated in elegance. WE are handed a menu with the date and a special Birthday message to Mr. Travel Bug. There are two menus to choose from, one being vegetarian. We are total carnivores so the choice was easy. Here is a sample of their glorious menu.
