This is the 22nd episode of my $10 challenge series, and it was by FAR the hardest one to make… In fact, it was so difficult that I nearly gave up half way because OSLO IS THE WORLD’S MOST EXPENSIVE CITY and things here are 2-4X pricier than back home….

But somehow, I made it happen and proved to you all that it is possible to do Norway on a budget.

Huge shoutout to my two local friends, Petter and Anders, who I met last minute on Instagram. They helped make this video happen!

  1. What 10$ (150₺) can get you in Turkey:

    •A toast/kumru menu for breakfast in a cheap restaurant 2$ (30₺)
    •2 Bus/Metro rides 1$ (15₺)
•A kebap menu in an average restaurant 4$ (60₺)
•Turkish coffee & Turkish delight in an average caffe 2$ (30₺)
    •little souvenirs 1$ (15₺)

This is Istanbul price, If you visit Anatolian side you will find much better prices.

  2. Lol. At the gas sign thing it says 14 kr for a liter of gas. That is about 6 dollars pr gallon (i think, but please tell me if my conversion from NOK to USD/ liter to gallon was wrong).
Now it’s 22 nok (at least where i live in Norway). That equals about 9 USD pr gallon (again tell me if my calculation was wrong). Heh…

  3. 10 dollars is the same as 100 Norwegian Money. So its actually the same🤷‍♂️

  4. In America money has higher value, But in Norway it has lower value. So like a simple dollar in America is like 8 kr. 🇳🇴 If you live in Norway, it’s quite normal.

  5. Its just Oslo that is expensive other place’es in norway is 1000000 times cheaper

  6. I am born in Sweden but my mom is Norwegian, so whenever we visit my grandma, grandpa and cousins in Norway my wallet instantly becomes depressed, its actually kind of absurd how much more expensive it gets by just crossing one border.

  7. Nope, Oslo is not the most expensive city. Go to any place in Switzerland and you will get even less than in your video =)

  8. As an norwegain i dont really realize how expensive it is but when i go to other countries i realize…

  9. I am half vietnamese and half norwegian. My parents are vietnamese and i was raised in Norway

  10. The bus i take from school is pretty often a little late haha. Many tourists think the busses is always on time but it’s not.

  11. The reason is because it’s normal to get paid pretty much thooo! And Norway isn’t in EU..
