You could go swimming here but theres a reason beyond pollution NOT TO do it.
In fact, its why Japanese summer at the beach ends in August deaite hot Septembers.

  1. Amber’s 1st encounter with open water gave me heart failure.
She was 3. I thought when she got her feet in the lake, she would stop. Oh heck no… she was after ducks. She was treading before I got to her.

  2. it's great to see the family together and Leo loves the water you'll always find those born late Feb early March love water even in the desert they'll be living near water even if it's just a stream. he's at home there for sure I celebrated my 70th birthday on 3/14/1951. thanks John Kanea n Leo always a pleasure!

  3. Yes with children move out of the city no place for children they need clean air and places to run around and less noise than in cities…. move to the country 100%

  4. If you come to the PNW, my fiancé and I would love to meet you! We are trying to get to Japan, we were originally going to go in April 2020 but that got canceled for obvious reasons. I am helping manage a construction project in Walla Walla, unbelievably good food and wine there. If you go to Seattle I'd like to know what you think of Uwajimaya, having been to Japan just once, I use it as a crutch to get my Japan fix until it opens up again and I can go visit again.

  5. As an Aussie – you are right – we don't consider those moon jellies as anything to be fussed about. They don't sting. In fact they are rather beautiful to watch them move about in the water. Leo looks adorable. So glad he loves the water. Kanae, as always, is such an attentive parent. Fun to watch this stream.

  6. What a gorgeous day with family love to your family John he reminds me if my daughter at that age she is 29

  7. You seem to be scared of the Jellyfish John …. do they have the dangerous ones in Japan ?
If I am not mistaken most of them are harmless ?

Also I have heart many Tokyoites who also say Asakusa "wrong" if you go by the know it all better foreigners.
I am always confused that some say Asakusa correct as the correct way sounds so different from normal Japanese like I never heard a "ksa" sound anywhere else even though I know you don't allways pronounce the U strongly and kinda skip it sometimes.

  8. In Spain, they swim around the jellyfish:) But the beaches are thinning out here as people are heading back home. Schools start in Spain around the 7th Sept so it's time to get organized. In places like Belgium, they start on 1st Sept. I think you will also find kids are back to school on 1st Sept in Japan. Workers' holidays are over and kids at school equal no one on the beach.

  9. Tokyo Bay is so beautiful, hopefully one day the water is gonna be clean enough to swim in it.

  10. Hello John, I am French and I teach English. I have been watching your videos for years, even asked for your perimssion once to use a video of yours in my class, you nicely accepted. If you think I can help subtitling your videos in French… I am your man ;-). Love to your lovely family.

  11. @11.00 minute = the fish jumped out, next to the Kayakers. 😅

@12.43 min = fish jumped up again.

@22.26 min = fish jumped up behind John.

  12. In Israel, the jelly fishes are arriving very early now in the summer, since July, we still have jelly fishes, specially in Haifa now. But, we do wear long swimsuits and no problem

  13. It looks so relaxing. I can’t wait for Autumn. Hopefully, they’ll get the water cleaned up soon. Thanks for sharing your family outing with us.

  14. There is a beautiful beach we used to go to near Hakkeijima called Umi no Koen! Leo would love it!

  15. It always puts a smile on my face to see John with his family. Leo's eyes have such a beautiful mix of his parents features! Whatever he does, as long as he doesn't become a sumo wrestler 😅, he'll always be a cutie! And it's always good to see Kanae! Bless you, guys!!!

  16. Please subscribe to OkinaWanderer channel. He needs to get another 186 subscribers to Live stream. Thanks John and supporters.

  17. Please don't swim lol in UK we are having problems with sewage and beach water…bit of sewage in the eye, ear or mouth seems gross

  18. "Japanese Summer is Already Over" LOL surely you jest. It's hot AF! The heat will spike in Sept before it gradually cools off.
