After the two day check out process, we are finally able to begin our journey up the northern coast of Costa Rica. Our first stop after navigating the shallow area in Puntarenas is to meet up with a couple of our friends at a nearby anchorage. From here we sail overnight to Bahia Samara but we do not stay long as the anchorage is extremely uncomfortable. We pull anchor early in the morning and set off to an unknown destination hoping to find a place to get some rest. Feeling exhausted and a bit sea sick, we are beyond thankful when we happen on the anchorage of Bahia Guacamaya. From here we make another jump to the beautiful anchorage of Islas Murcielagos where we are pleasantly surprised by our surroundings. Thanks for watching!

  1. The sailing life can get somewhat dodgy at time, even down right dreadful. But in the end, you wouldn't change it for all the tea in China. All the coffee in South America, maybe. LOL! Stay groovy and stay safe.

  2. Live in CR, and have my boat at puerto Azul. As you noted the pollution and red tide is horrible, sad, depressing and what is going on with this Runaway planet, with no destination. Costa Rica government has to do something, punterenas is like such a cool place, with alot of potential, buy at this time it appears that the gulf of nicoya is dying! Wake up! I will continue to do my part, but this is a world wide problem! Costa Rica is not just rainforest and waterfalls. Every river that leads to the ocean is polluted! How is this permitted!

  3. This was showing how sailing can be work and uncomfortable sometimes. It was realistic for sure,I’m sure moving to a comfortable anchorage was the best decision.Good to see you all Buddy boats together

  4. Yep, long nights and little sleep is all part of it. Glad you guys share this so others can see it's not all palm trees and mango smoothies!
Great video, I so enjoy watching you guys!

  5. Sure looks like it was bumpy for sure. Happy you found a more peaceful place to rest. Could really tell as you made your way up to the cockpit ate some shuteye. Beaming smiles and golden hair in the sunshine. Niiiiiice ✨ 🌊💨⛵️🏝👙🌞✨

  6. Running your trans low on fluid and hot is very very bad for it.

  7. Can you hook a hose to a funnel to make it a little easier to fill the transmission maybe or maybe you have already fixed the leak👍👍

  8. Has anyone ever said that Gary reminds them of an actor by the name of Jason Mantzoukas? His voice especially!😁 It's a compliment because Jason is a very talented and funny actor!!

  9. Hi Guys : Just started watching your amazing adventure, Im a keen Amature Photographer: Im curious to ask what’s your camera set up ….?

  10. Great honest video – thanks. For someone who gets travel sickness in cars, and seasick on big boats (havent tried on small boats), is there hope that over time, someone prone to seasickness gets ‘used’ to the motion and is able to cope or is it a situation that, if you are subject to motion sickness, your body is not meant for a life on the sea? Very curious as you inspire me to travel on a boat…..Love what you do and how you do it.

  11. Stop the sadness get a fish net scoop
Up a little plastic. Such an easy solution which is the same as pollution. If every scoops up one fish net per boat the ocean would be clear of plastics within in a year. Plus there already is a solution but it’s too cheap and it’s not electric vehicle or batteries they are polluting the earth faster than oil. But most people don’t want to do the research. Oh well life goes on.

  12. Question. Would sleeping in hammocks help combat rolling anchorages? I know sleeping in a hammock isn’t great, but it’s better than not sleeping.
