Gumyoji Shotengai – a traditional style Japanese market

This is the second part of the Gumyoji video – in this one you will see the Shotengai- an old style shopping arcade. A Shotengai has a variety of shops, catering to the needs of the local community. They are usually on a street leading to a temple- the Gumyoji one is an example of that as well as the Nakamise Shotengai in Asakusa. Unfortunately little by little Shotengai are becoming a thing of the past and are substituted by modern shopping centers. Finding one that has retained its authenticity is really precious
