  1. I felt unbelievably awkward as a grown man having another grown man pedal me down the street. Amazing food and culture though. The smells are very unique. Not bad, just unique. I got hooked on Vietnamese coffee and have been ever since.

  2. I have no idea how he slurped up that Cobra heart. Still beating… He was so brave. I couldn't do it.

  3. For me, without doubt and hands down the best South East Asian food. Brilliant, thank you Vietnam for letting me live, work and eat in your amazing country.

  4. He said it right, it’s just a different culture….. I probably try the heart , fried bones and fried meat but the soup or sushi or that big grub? No thanks! Hahahahaha….

  5. No disrespecting to Anthony, but it's eating weird animals like that, creating SARS and COVID.

  6. All these restaurants which were in this original AB’s show are still here today, but the host has gone to a better place, we will remember you Mr. Bourdain

  7. Waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting for the 🦂 kabobs, and all we get is a beating 🐍❤

  8. If Tony had thought about mada Gao and about Vietnam that night in the hotel in paris I think he would still be with us😢 I MISS YOU TONY

  9. This was entirely new to Americans at the time, wasn't it? I mean, travel in Vietnam, the food. Tony even pronounces the famous pho incorrectly. It was all still so new. I remember watching this with my wife, who was a huge fan of Food Network. She found Tony off-putting at first – too New York, too hipster, whatever – but she came around soon enough. I remember us agreeing, Vietnam looks amazing. It was still unknown to most of us.

  10. He really did make an excellent point about how western culture doesn't give a second thought about eating oysters, clams, lobsters etc. So what is so gross about eating grubs and snakes?

  11. He talks of our system…it wasn't mine. I grew up on a farm. After married more than half of the meat on my table was brought in with either my 16 gage or my husband's 12 guage…or the end of a rod and reel. But I really get a kick out of watching someone that has always had his meat and dairy products delivered to his business, home or market..

  12. Snapping turtle heart will continue to beet for about 10 days when put under running water…maybe needs to be kept damp entire time…and snake needs to be marinated …buttermilk works or pickled..

  13. In the Philippines they make that fertilised duck egg too.
Called 'Balot'. Mine had little webbed feet hanging out of it.

  14. as i sit at work in the kitchen i realize he is the reason im here today. rip

  15. Great show. Just an idea: Could you include a time stamp on this title so I know when this show was made. It must be produced few years ago because Mr Bourdain loooks so young.
