I found this hidden gem in the Japanese Alps – a snowboarding paradise in Nagano Japan – Madarao Mountain Resort (斑尾高原スキー場)

In 2015, I was lucky to be offered an employment opportunity to work at the lesser-known Madarao Mountain Resort. During my first week, I took full advantage of the J-Pow (Japanese Powder) and tried my luck at snowboarding.

Madarao has some great runs, so if you’re ever in the Nagano area next time during Japan’s ski season, then I highly recommend you check it out – fewer tourists too.
