Today we explore WSIKF, the Washington State International Kite Festival in Long Beach, Washington. I take you around the festival grounds to find out what goes on at one of the largest kite festivals in the United States. Well check out the vendors, bands and of course the kites and their fliers!

  1. I flew kites in the '80s and all came alive I saw Lee Sedgwick fly to Lady in Red through a dog screw . My first kite was a scannersaurus- F 36 my second was a 6 ft flexi rainbow I had a Hawaiian like top of the line used to fly and a Fire Dart like Chicago Fire used to fly was friends with Pam Kerr Lee Sedgwick and Eric wolf still fly my Revolution some .My hips are bad and it's easy to fly the Rev without a lot of movement. I'm not in the best flying place but sometimes sit in my golf cart and fly single line kites I lived in Northwest Indiana now I live in Florida. I hope someday to see kite flying become very popular like it used to be. Okay where are the comments I want to hear what you had to say I want to know about your experiences. If you got nothing to say fine go fly a kite.

  2. Last attended in 2021, did a video. I understand that the affordability of lodging completely blew up, grrr! I am glad there were a few good days with regard to sun and winds. WSIKF is always so variable! I see kites of many regulars as well as a few new ones. Overall, it seems that attendance is down, just like last year. For those who are making the scene, your contributions are appreciated. Hoping the AKA convention comes to Seaside soon.
