No first-time visit to Oahu is complete without a stop at the Pearl Harbor National Memorial Site, and we’re headed there with Fly Shuttle & Tours, which was part of the Go City Oahu pass program. Join us as we snag an authentic Hawaiian breakfast, head to Pearl Harbor for some exploration, then wonder where the heck our city tour went!! 😛

Find Go City Oahu on the internet machine here: https://gocity.com/oahu/en-us
(Over three days in Honolulu, we used the pass for the Ka Moana luau, Pearl Harbor tour, Makani catamaran, and Polynesian Cultural Center admission. This is not to be confused with the “Go Oahu Card” which is a real thing, but we didn’t check that one out.)

  1. Been to the Arizona and Pearl Harbor twice. As a USAF veteran and who had a father serve in the Merchant Marines during WWII the Arizona is hallowed ground. Very emotional and humbling

  2. You really missed out with the USS Arizona but if it makes you feel better that day before booking thing is a joke. Tried it twice and both times all the times were gone in 10 seconds. You did the right thing just getting in the stand by line. We ended up just going over early in the morning and waiting in line and we got in on the first boat.

  3. Thank you for sharing this. Your video brought back so many memories from our trip in December. I teared up several times and the most notable was when we viewed all the submarines that were lost. I had no idea so many subs had gone missing. It really touched my heart. On a good note, I truly hope we see you make it to the Honolulu Cookie Company store at the Hilton Village…that place was amazing!!

  4. Man, such memories! I love the Hilton Hawaiian Village, when we stayed there we stayed in the Ali’i tower right on the beach. It’s too bad Wailana Coffee House closed down, that would have been a great spot for you guys to check out.

  5. I didn’t get on the tour in Pearl Harbor either. We had tickets and tour was cancelled because of waves. Maybe one day.

  6. Great tour. It was amazing. And I really appreciate all of our military for what they do. Thanks again being a us along.☺️

  7. I’m not a travel agent like Dee, but whenever we travel abroad we pick up a travel guide at our local Barnes & Noble so we know what we want to see ahead of time and tips for visitors. When we went to Hawaii we had no trouble visiting the Arizona because we reserved it early.

  8. When you take a cruise out of New Orleans you should go to the WWII museum. It’s amazing!

  9. "We were just… Burning alive."
I had to take a minute with that. Once again you captured the emotions perfectly.

  10. Many thanks for all the work you put into your videos..wonderful info..and as always you guys are entertaining.

  11. Thanks for filming at Pearl Harbor! My Dad was a survivor and told me so many stories of how he survived the attack! I have it on my bucket list to visit!

  12. My husband and I went the first part of May 2022 and used the go Oahu card. We did the audio tour, the submarine, the Missouri and the aviation museum. All was included.

  13. Mans inhumanity to man never ceases to astound. Glad that you got to at least go around the exhibits, I found it very moving to watch even though I`m Canadian, we really are all in this together aren`t we.Thankyou guys.

  14. I remember we tried to book a tour to Pear Harbour from our hotel but it was all sold out. So we just took an Uber there and bought a ticket out there. We got on the Arizona tour no problem that day. I guess we struck it lucky, mind you it was back in 2019. I also really recommend going over to the island, especially if you like aviation stuff, a great museum there.

  15. Pearl Harbor is definitely a bucket list place for me. I would be there for hours. Thank you for the tip to get the Arizona passes. Glad you made a snail friend.

  16. So did you find it manifestly different than the Caribbean grossly? Would you say it's worth a 10+ hour flight?

  17. We did the Pearl Harbor/Airport drop off tour. We did the submarine tour. You guys for sure would have bumped your heads a lot.

  18. ABC stores was also nearby your hotel. You guys looked to have so much fun! I’m heading back in August to help Ally move into her apartment. If you guys ever go again please feel free to call on me…

  19. All Hawaii 7-11 Stores are 24/7… and there were two located within a block of the Doubletree Alana Hotel 🙂

  20. Excellent preview to the Pearl Harbor Memorial. Looks like almost an all day stop to do all of including ferry out to the ship. Seems like it would be emotional. Even going to Viet Nam War memorial was emotional war. It was my dad’s 3rd war and he was decorated there. Thanks take a box Kleenex I guess for Pearl Harbor. Like you I thought there would be more the tour company was offering.

  21. As an Australian visiting memorial I I I found it very moving. The one thing that stuck in my mind was the fact that Elvis Hawaiian concert raised a majority of the money for building of the memorial.

  22. Pro tip… You can also book tickets 8 weeks prior to your visit, to go onto the USS Arizona, but you have to be quick!

  23. Dee, I was totally emotional at the Arizona site. I lost it when they said that some survivors, after they passed, wanted to have their remains brought back and buried with their comrades at the Memorial. Very moving.

  24. Aw this brings back memories. Lived on Oahu many years ago. I've never been able to go back for a visit. Remembering so many Saturday's at Hanauma Bay beach and time at Ala Moana mall just hanging out. Malasadas was my favorite treat.

  25. How CUTE was that huge snail on the garbage can!! I could hear your disappointment with finding out how to reserve that Arizona tour after you were already there; so good of you to advise people how to do this in the future. I'm looking forward to watching more!!

  26. Pearl Harbor was one of the best places we visited. So moving and so important to history. So sorry you didn’t get to go to the Arizona Memorial. It would really impact you in a way that is unimaginable.

  27. I cried at the Arizona. Try to get back there some day so that you can experience it. Truly emotional.

  28. I was extremely fortunate that my parents had taken me to Hawaii. we were able to go to the Arizona memorial. It was the most sombering experience of my life.
