This walk is exploring a woods area in Asahikawa city.
It’s called “Asahikawa City Foreign Tree Species Sample Forest”.
In the woods you can also find an travel spot “Ayako Miura Memorial Literature Museum”.
Ayako Miura (三浦 綾子) is a famous writer who was born in the town of Asahikawa.

The themes she explores in her novels are primarily Biblical themes: human depravity and egoism on the one hand, and sacrifice and forgiveness of sin on the other. She is often compared and contrasted with the Japanese Catholic novelist Endo Shusaku, who lived around the same time.

In fact, the area is not 100% safe because last year some bear’s droppings were found there.
But luckily, in the way to the woods area I met 2 deers instead.

Enjoy your walk!
