Fukuoka Freedom Night Market / 千年夜市 at 清流公園

We’re off to another festival – but this time, a more contemporary type. Freedom Night Market, a summer tradition in Hakata, returns for the first time in three years! Located in Seiryu Park just beside Canal City, it’s easily accessible on foot from both Tenjin and Hakata. It’s a place for young and old to enjoy an Asian-style night market. To celebrate the 10th edition of this annual event, 700 lanterns will light up the venue. Browse a range of booths offering food and drink from popular Fukuoka and Kyushu restaurants at the outdoor food area “Chikappa Yokocho.” Also don’t miss the stalls offering accessories and handicrafts, massages, fortune-telling, artwork, festival games, as well as a stage that will feature live music and dance performances.
