A review of the Samsung Gear 360, 360 Camera. I bought the Samsung Gear 360 at Vidcon for it’s US pre-release. I’ve had the Samsung Gear 360 for about a week and wanted to pass on my thoughts in this review. This video features: unboxing the Samsung Gear 360, Camera Review, Samsung Gear 360 Manager Android App, Gear 360 Action Director PC Software, and tips for shooting 360 video. Overall I think this is a really great 360 camera, I give it 4 out of 5 on the “Topher Scale” — and definitely the best 360 camera I’ve used.

    So you need a samsung phone to use the camera… I guess there are more cameras to choose from.

    When I uploaded the images to my laptop I noticed that the software made two set of videos, one right side up and another upside down. I guess if you have this on a drone it would be beneficial. The only downside I have is that it take a long long time to process it on a laptop or desktop even with a i7 processor set to performance setting.

    I have a few questions for you….

    I am still in limbo of purchasing this……

    1) I'm starting my own Youtube LiveStream Channel, and i have an S7 & S7 Edge, so using those is no problem.
    You mentioned it comes with software, and could this be used to connect straight to PC for livestream for youtube cam? being i have so many question i was actually going to ask if we could Google Hangout (phone call, or video)

    2) I do like the idea of the selfie stick and dual opposing cams, so if i am live streaming an interview from outdoors, both me and my guest are on cam at the same time!!

    3) You said almost 4K…..it isn't official 4K?

    I have more questions, but perhaps we can start there!

    Thank you for your hard work in reviewing and sharing this experience. I have a DLSR? Camera and its kind big to carry around.
    so this just maybe my option, and I LOVE SAMSUNG!!

    Quick question…. I am wanting to use the footage from both lenses in a non 360 format…. I'm wanting to shoot car zooming and want the approach and departure angle without needing 2 GoPro's. Do you know if thats possible? Not seeing that functionality in Action Director.

    how many hours this camera can record on a fully charged battery and one more question what if you use this camera on a tripod with suction cup hanging upside down will it come our straight on ur mobile device or on pc?

    Nice review. Too bad this camera really sucks. Returned the Gear 360 a few hours after trying it out. Stitching is terrible, and has a lot of distortion. Front and rear images do not match at all as far as the white balance and color saturation. I have a Ricoh Theta S, and it is far superior to the Gear 360. I would hope the new version is better, but it's no longer a sphere shape, which I would prefer.
