The Yuujou travelers are very close to reach Japan. How do they feel now that the final destination and the reunion of both teams is just a few steps away?

Team East leaves Quezon City and travel to Tagaytay where the next exciting encounter is waiting for them. Adrian, Yuujou community member and supportive ambassador, invited the travelers to spend a few days with him. And the days in Tagaytay could not be more exciting. Together with Adrian they climb up volcano Taal and attend a Filipino wedding ceremony.

Across the ocean there is Team West inhaling the tropical vibes of Hawaii. They go surfing, hiking and attend a big family celebration at the house of their host Carly where they are introduced to Carly’s friend and their next host Yuki. Even though Yuki is Japanese she unfortunately not manages to get a direct connection to Japan. How do the traveler manage to still cross the Pacific and make it to Japan within the given 100 days?

What is Yuujou?

Six genuine people from different cultural backgrounds set out on a unique adventure to show the power of friendship around the world. The international media art project Yuujou is an excellent example for humanity and the wonders that can be achieved if we only open ourselves to connecting with others.

Yuujou is a 100-day travel adventure from Berlin to Tokyo! Through an extraordinary travel experiment Yuujou wants to show the importance of friendship. In April 2019, two teams of three people each start their journey in Berlin. One team goes east, the other one west. Within 100 days, both teams try to make it to the other side of the world – Japan. The journey is a real adventure! The route unfolds along the way, because the travelers only travel from one friend to another: The next stop must be a friend of the previous friend. If the teams meet again in Japan, a chain of friendship around the world is created.

  1. It has been great to get a chance to meet and spend time with team east just in time before they complete the 100-day journey and before they get to fly to Tokyo!
