Here’s the video I took in Gumyoji, Yokohama’s oldest Buddhist temple. I have been to so many of them but there’s always something new to discover, like the concept of Migawari Jizo – a bodhisattva that takes on them your suffering. A nice surprise was to see Ema votive tablets similar to those in Takahata Fudo because both temples have aktars dedicated to Shoden, the Buddhist version of the Hindu god Ganesha. I later discovered that the Kannon hall has an ancient statue of Kannon, the bodhisattva of forgiveness and compassion. Next I wanted to see if there is a time of the year when we can go and see it.
