I explore the streets of Najaf. First, some busy streets near imam Ali shrine, then a very poor neighborhood, and finally I look for some food on the way back to my hotel. I find a man preparing some kebabs, and once again, I don’t succeed paying for my meal, despite the poverty of my hosts.

  1. i'm from iraq but i grew up in America and this confirms the genoristy that I have known to be true amongst my Iraqi brothers and sisters. they really are like that and it makes them happy to be this generous. ty for showing the true side of the Iraqi people <3

  2. Its so interesting that no one really is on their phone checking their social medias and messages. People are more engaged in interaction and awareness.

  3. 14:41 – That's actually not the old logo of Toyota itself. Back in the 80's for Japanese markets Toyota had various separate logos for the each model. I think this logo was to represent the "Crown" model.

  4. Awww.. This vlog is soo heartwarming.. The kids you was mingling with were so adorable.. <3

  5. it would be a much nicer country without these women in their chadors. What a primitive culture. What a sad picture. Nobody can tell me that they wear it voluntarily and gladly. Terrible.

  6. Stop being a cheap son of a bi$&. They are poor people but more generous then any French person. Pay them even if they donโ€™t want to take your money.

  7. It would be nice for westerners to return the generosity… when you get offered free food or drink. Its nice to give back with the small.kids or something to that kind…

But this brother here even takes back the change which might equate to 5cent sometimes..

  8. At 9:25 you mention the balance between excitement and fear. I completely agree. It is human nature when in an unfamiliar place. Also, in western countries we have grown up with fear being instilled in us about places like this. However, that is what makes them that much more special to visit.

  9. Pretty sure those loud bangs were generators, and "ruman" means pomegranate in Arabic, literally one of the best fruit drinks there!!

  10. Dude, you're doing it wrong, you have to pay them for what you eat. It's their culture not to take money from guests in the first place. You have to pay them for what they ate. because they are poor people than you. They earn less than 100 euros per month.

  11. The little hijabed girl was speaking in a Syrian accent, the little boy was asking for your channel name so he can see himself. Despite the apparent poverty the sellers are very generous.

  12. Dear adventure Yves, you go man in very narrow poor neighborhood , nice people and kind in heart , but it is dirty city !! more attention required from government and society.
