We spend time exploring Shimoda, it’s the only bit of tourism we could do this season because of coronavirus. Shimoda was also our last port in Japan. We left on June 9th and arrived in Victoria on July 28th. In all, we spent 50 days on the water (experiencing July 1st twice!).

This was a very difficult trip, but we also saw some amazing things, lots of birds, lots of whales and dolphins.

As I’ve mentioned in the video, we kept a detailed logbook of happenings on the trip. If you want to know more about the trip, read the book: https://hundredrabbits.itch.io/busy-doing-nothing

  1. Get an eberspatcher heater
I have one and they are amazing, drying out the boat and keeping damp and cold at bay .
At sea run it two days on , three days off.
Boats must be kept warm and dry to be healthy
A damp and cold small boat can wreck health
Thats been a big lesson for me

  9. love your videos..! especially the one where you spend 15 days sailing from New zealand to fiji.
the scene where the water was completely still.. and It got me wondering if you have any longer clips where you film the extremely quiet ocean that you wanted to share?

  10. Thank you for skipping the boring! The next best footage of this passage is like 3 parts of 40 min each. I watched all 3 in 30 seconds! Lol

  11. What happened to the wind vane self steering you had in earlier videos? How did this crossing go without it?
