  1. Love the Varsity. Living in Atlanta, we would go almost every Sunday after church. Chili dogs are amazing and the onion rings are the best. I don't live in ATL anymore but still crave the Varsity.

  2. I haven't been to World of Coke at that location, but visited it at its' former location. Hope to see the new location at some point.
Also, nice choice of hotel. BTW, one of the TV stations there has a weather observation camera atop that hotel.

  3. Love the Varsity! And completely agreeβ€”chili dog, peach pie, onion rings. I just add a frosted orange to my order.

The behind the scenes tour is surprisingly affordable. We did that with our kids last September. It was really interesting!

  4. Lovely aquarium! I haven’t been to one since a school trip when I was a little kid. I’ve wanted to go back for a while. Why was the green material on the beluga whale?

  5. I grew up in Atlanta; I love it! I go down about every two months to visit my brother and his wife. We go to Waffle House for breakfast a couple of times during the week I'm there. I love their grits!

  6. So many memories of the Varsity……………funny thing, I have never had a waffle at WOHO (Waffle House)

  7. Amazing day!! Sea life and yummy stuff! I've only been to the airport in Atlanta and that's not my favorite place πŸ˜‚. Your Atlanta makes me want to leave airport property. 😎

  8. I remember going to the waffle house one time after a whole bunch of us had stated dancing at the club and when the lady handed us the menus she had so much dirt underneath her fingernails , II thought i was gonna hurl. Down here in Houston most of the waffle houses attract the wrong type of people. So we do not go there. Be safe I hope you enjoy your meal.😨

  9. Hope on your way home you stopped in Greenville, SC …πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰ wait, I just got your hint where you are headed next…choo choo

  10. I went there, and my favorite was the beluga whales also. They are so smart.πŸ˜‡ Oh! and whale sharks .. so big, so gentle.😍

  11. Coca Cola was in 1886 by John Stith Pemberton a confederate general who go shot in Civil War near Columbus Georgia and he try to make his own drug but in up make Coca Cola using cocaine first but later they took out cocaine and put Caffeine in it

  12. And it was introduced on may 8 ,1886 you are right on one thing that you say 1885 it was Dr Pepper and it was in Waco Texas or the other cities or town in Texas

  13. Nice Waffle House coffee pose from Jay. The aquarium was wonderful. Thank you for all the footage and Dee's photos.
A corner toilet….never have seen one either.

  14. I enjoyed the beluga whales too! For Mother’s Day one year, I booked an interactive experience for my mom and I – we got to get in the water with the belugas and play with the dolphins. That was awesome!

  15. Only went to Waffle House once. And it was late at night after a Who concert in Tampa. It was good. There are no Waffle Houses on or near Long Island.

  16. It is a waffle house literally on every block or street in Atlanta, I really love the pecan waffles πŸ§‡ they are the best. Ya'll making me want to go to the waffle πŸ§‡ houseπŸ˜‹πŸ˜‚enjoy and welcome to the A

  17. Loved this! We went to the Aquarium about 6 years ago and absolutely loved it. It is by far the best aquarium I’ve been to. The room where you view the whale shark tank was a little overwhelming…I kept feeling like I needed to hold my breath! πŸ˜‚ They fed the whale sharks while we were there, which was amazing! My son, who at the time wanted to be a marine biologist, was in his happy place for sure. We came home with (and still have) the same stuffed animal whale shark Dee had in the gift shop. Thoroughly wonderful day!

  18. I am a sucker for the aquarium, we went right before the shutdown. I'm lucky enough to be a short train ride away.

The park closed for the shutdown, but most parks in Atlanta never closed. Who knows why it was that one only.

  19. If you are going to be in Seward Alaska this summer – you should check out the SeaLife Center. πŸ™‚

  20. FYI the founder of the Home Depot Bernie Marcus donated 20 million dollars to start the Aquarium. He and Arthur Blank got fired from Handy Dan in Dallas TX and they came to Atlanta to start the Home Depot. Their loss is our wonderful gain!. BTW we don't call our city Hotlanta. She is now the ATL. We are also the home of Chick Fil A. From a proud native and new subbie.

  21. Wow – a sign warning you to "don't feed the rats"!! I was JUST gonna pet those furry little creatures (jk!) We love having breakfast for dinner; too bad so many things were closed. That "LOUD" alarm sticker is something I want to put on my home…it just seems like it would terrify anybody lurking around!

"Puffery-doo?" I love your names for the fish, Jay! COOL Whale Shark!!! Our oldest, Naomi got to see the one in Japan at their aquarium there…pretty AMAZING!!!

  22. The aquarium looks awesome! And those onion rings πŸ˜‹ Now I feel like I need to take the grands to ATL to visit the aquarium. Thanks for sharing 😊
