Nebuta Matsuri festival is one of the three most popular Festival in Japan!
In this video, these three Nebuta festivals (Aomori Nebuta, Hirosaki Neputa and Goshogawara Neputa) are introduced.
The festival is held from August 2 to 7 every year. The festival is held during the night from August 2 to 6, and during the daytime on August 7, with a fireworks display at night. A festival on the eve of the festival will be held on August 1. The cost of the festival is approximately 220 million yen.
Aomori’s Nebuta are divided into three types: large Nebuta, children’s Nebuta, and regional Nebuta. The children’s and community Nebuta are mainly operated by neighborhood associations and are one size smaller than the regular large Nebuta. The children’s Nebuta are held for two days on August 2 and 3. The large Nebuta are always held during the festival, but due to incentives, the number of large Nebuta on the 2nd and 3rd may be smaller. -Nebuta Festival
