  1. Great vid! Cathay is definitely cutting cost, and introducing Buy On Board is just AWFUL. Hope Cathay will cancel this. BTW, they are progressively retiring their B772 starting from later this year. Unfortunately it's still 333 on ADL…

  2. BAD Services Nowadays…

    EXPENSIVE Full Fare
    with POOR & Low Quality
    Products…..

    I DON'T use CX Service
    anymore…..

    BYE BYE !!!!!

  3. Excellent report Jayden ! I totally agree that Buy On Board is NOT the way forward. Soon lose their reputation with that one.

  4. I am a frequent flyer from Hong Kong to Sydney, and I can tell you they definitely lose my business. Their services disappoint me in recent years. Singapore Airline is much better than CX. If I am not in a hurry, Singspore Airline is my choice. Sorry CX.

  5. Great video. I still use Asia Miles and can use on Bangkok Airways this Monday and Qatar Airways on summer

  6. If cathay 777 turn into 10 abreast seating, i will never choose 777 anymore

  7. Would really love to see Cathay come to Miami. 😉. That said, I’ve noticed as I fly their Business Class, that their inflight services are NOT what they once were. If this keeps up, I will AVOID CX in my future travel plans. 🤔

  8. All these 'recent news' topics are directly from CXSecrets. Which even you should know is very unreliable. However, you talk about all these new updates with certainty as if CX said it themselves. "Furthermore, they will be announcing new services to Cape Town and Canberra, Australia." See what I mean? Cape Town is a possibility, but I highly doubt Canberra will make it unless the Australian government subsidises them. Plus, 772s are going 10-abreast. And DoD was trialled to LGW, not LHR. And they've denied considering Buy on Board. On overnight flights from/to Tokyo and Seoul, most people actually sleep before the meal service. A lot of food wasted, and the passengers won't really mind. Other rumours have been circulating that as people board the overnight flights, they'll receive a snack so that the lights can be turned off for the entirety of the flight. So… state accurate facts next time please.

  9. I like the airline news update, would like to view more news about Qantas. I was happy to hear that Cathay are introducing A350 from SYD-HKG, but very disappointed at news about the buy on inflights. I usually use Cathay for flights to Narita or Kansai (Stop by HK). Now have second thoughts when I viewed this review. I preferred full services, so I don't need to worry about buying this or that inflights. This feel like budget airlines or American airlines, where you have to pay for everything on board. Good video!

  10. People need be warned Cathay Pacific  will just tell lies. All to easy to make a big profit when you tell the customer one thing and then just go back on it some months later. They cost me 5 London Hong Kong returns. I even went to the head office and all the did was laugh. All in all a very bad experience they have had no interest in sorting any thing out as they have my money.

  11. Great Review! Just make sure to check your research, cathay will send their A350 on all services to Australia except for the current 777-300er services (sydney) as they are no longer able to add more flights to the 4 major ports and the 777's have more room. But besides that great job!!! Can you do a review on the future of adelaide airport and the airlines serving it?

  12. Hmm are they going to remove the unique shell seats when they intruduce the 10 abrest seats on the Boeing 777-300? I hope they could open more Indonesian routes. Also, they have an overnight flight to Jakarta and most likely the buy onboard meals will implement on that flight too?

  13. its good to see cathay operate to london heathrow. Can't wait, but I'm not sure which of the 5 flights will be the a350, because I heard about Cathay will use 2 A350s on this route. I assume it will be CX 255 , CX 257. Return trip, might be CX 252 and CX 238. There is a lot of bad news coming from CX. I'm really upset to see Cathay introduce Buy on board. Anyway, its a long story. Remember to come to my channel to watch my videos. I've recently uploaded a review on Lufthansa. This is a really good video, thank you very much

  14. Isn't Cathay circling the bowl…not much reason for them with the rise of the mainland carriers and the ME3 getting more and more of the long-haul international traffic.

  15. I won't fly CX at all . (I won't even try their short haul ones) it's nearly the same as AirAsia isn't it…

  16. It is true that Cathay Pacific service has gone down pretty much. Crews morale are at a all time low when I flew with them last August. Meals wise , Cathay Dragon provides better meals than Cathay Pacific. Flew HKG-KHH with Cathay Dragon and was offered a full meal while the flight from TPE-HKG was a snack box. Both legs are of similar time frame, but service wise are worlds apart.

  17. Hey mate, heads up Dj's Aviation is calling you and your channel out via Instagram for stealing "his" video idea. That could explain the dislikes or if you've received any negative feedback.
Loved the video, very informative and accurate. You make the best news series videos in my opinion! 🙂

  18. Iv'e been flying CX since 1966 on the Convair 880M and their service has been amazing for years years. As I only fly biz on CX its sad to see their CX flights to KUL get replaced by KA instead. Oh well I'll continue to fly on CX biz class but those poor fellas in economy with 10 across good luck.

  19. Would love to see Cathay Pacific do an inaugural flight from Hong Kong to Dallas/Fort Worth someday. My mom is a Oneworld flyer with American Airlines and switches planes there.

  20. I'm particularly upset that the seating configuration on 777s will change. The 18.5 inch seats are very comfortable, and I've once tried the 17 inch seats on an Air Canada 777. Awful experience. Buy onboard is not something good for the reputation of a 5-star airline. I think if Cathay wants to cut their catering expenses, maybe they can give an option to skip the meal when red-eye passengers buy the ticket. Glad to see new A350s flying new routes, but it is sad to see the old ones go. For me personally, I don't mind travelling on old planes, but it is true that old planes consume more fuel. It appears that the management is trying to reduce costs by lowering the airline's service. I think it is more responsible for the management team to focus more on finding other methods to increase revenue. Cutting cost by cutting service seems to have made a lot of CX fans upset, CX should try to retain the customers.
PS I'd like to see B-HNL be preserved somewhere after her retirement. Afterall she's the first 777 ever built.

  21. Excellent video… about Bahrain 🇧🇭 99% still operating they can’t close it because it has very high demand even without Dubai passengers from Bahrain to Hong Kong for connecting because I asked them in Bahrain office… just correction… thanks for useful information

  22. cost cutting cost cutting cost cutting cost cutting cost cutting cost cutting cost cutting cost cutting…

RIP Cathay. Cathay Pacific has ALWAYS been known for its excellent services, but they have been cutting costs here and there over the years. I always pay extra to fly Cathay for its services and comfort as well as being a Hong Kong based airline since I was born there and spent almost ten years growing up there as a child. Don't get me wrong, Cathay Pacific is still amazing and among the best airlines in the world, but it has definitely declined in service over the years. I am most upset about the 777 economy seat changes from 9 to 10 abreast seating as I fly from New York to Hong Kong quite often on their 777-300ER. I can't imagine flying almost 16 hours in a crammed seat that I paid $1500-2000 USD round trip for. 10 abreast seating makes more sense on their regional 777, but on the ER? I heard Hong Kong Airlines will start flying to New York in 2018 with their new A350. I hope I don't have to make the painful switch as I really like Cathay and its history.
