Niigata is renowned throughout Japan for its rice and its sake. Many people aren’t aware that Niigata brews some delicious craft beer as well. The City of Tainai has its very own brewery and beer garden, Tainai Kogen Beer and Beer Garden. It’s right next to Tainai Kogen Ski Area, a medium-sized resort just an hour north of Niigata City. It’s good even on a slushy late March day at the end of the ski season. And as Japanese convenience would have it, within view of the front slopes are the Norschwanstein-esque towers of the Royal Tainai Park Hotel. Snowboarding, craft beer gardens and a castle hotel, find them all together in Tainai, and enjoy them for less with Traveling on a Dime!
