A small and run-down home near downtown Shizuoka city Japan. Just the place to set up an old style Japanese country house in the big city.

THE PATH OF WILDNESS
The Path of Wildness is easy to find
The course of a stream
Leaves blown in the wind
A beast’s track through the brush
And the direction of our first inclination
The Path of Wildness is an answer and response to a prescribed way of life which may leave some individuals with a sense that their living is little more than a series of pre-determined, step-like episodes between birth and death. The stages of living between these events: childhood, adolescence, adulthood, parenthood and senior are themselves natural and in accord with the needs of the species and most individuals. Many find their satisfaction in living this course and to these individuals I have little or nothing to say. Others though long for something more; something innate, genetic and seemingly calling. Adventure and change can give a degree of satisfaction and relief yet even these may seem too tame. To those who feel drawn to something beyond the entertainment and stimulation of senses I offer a walk along The Path of Wildness. Don’t bother penciling the event in your schedule, preparing a pack with goodies and supplies or even inviting a friend along, for this experience is along the course of your first inclination and you must surely always go alone.

I totally agree with you, this house looks beautiful! A bit new colour to it and it is heavenly! The architecture is so neat.
i loled when the spider said me house lmao. I really think you could really revamp the house very nicely. Good find
I love how optimistic you are 🙂 and just curious since you mentioned it, is it a big difference in the way the japanese renovate they're hoses, do they usually use paint or wallpaper?
Thanks for sharing your'e experiences with us Kurt and greetings from Sweden 🙂
/Joakim
lolz as soon as i saw it, i thought it looked run-down ! but it would like nice without the bar pattern on the windows, reminds me of jail!, but a lick of paint could do the place justice, its a bargain and if you put in the effort it could be something special 😀 also you need to get the place checked before buying, cause it could be a diaster and ready to cave in and that sounds expensive to fix,
That does look like a nice little house.
It reminds me of the house in 'My Neighbor Totoro' ^^ I don't think it looks run-down, it just needs a little TLC and maybe the yard could use a good trimming.
That house just needs a little love. 🙂
we have a lot like that in the philippines sir.
Could be a haunted house? ^_^
Didn't Emily say before she wanted a big house so the family can have a dog?
Big back yard…. hmmmmm The best use for that can be…..? ^_^
Is it me or the house look similar or kind off alike from the movie grudge O.o…Research anyone :]
You are right! That is a very cool house 🙂
I'm guessing that plot in the back is another lot that hasn't been built on. A little run down? Dude, you'd go broke trying to fix that up.
Looks like the house they shot the Grudge in.
It's definitely a fixer-upper, but you're right it's got a lot of potential!
You are right that is a very nice fix-up home. ^_^
MY HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!
Brilliant.
Could make a nice home…
I like that too!
WOuld be nice if you will make a video on the little mountain's trails..
You're doing a nice job indeed!
keep it up!
@hpeterswald Yea, there's prolly tons of makkurourosuke, but nothing some laughing won't get rid of. :p
Yes, I would also buy the house. It needs some work but it has so much ground for a Japanese house and it still has some nice traditional touches.
That house is so awesome! It is in a very good location. LOL When you were showing us around I was thinking it would be cool to live in that house , because it has a everything I like at walking distance. Then you turned your camera and there is a boxing gym then I thought wow its so perfect because I am a martial artist and if I ever moved to Japan I would want to keep in shape so awesome!
Love the bell cricket sounds!
A really nice house. Planning to buy it?
would be truly fulfilling renovating a house like that, reminds me of your other video your posted of an empty house, so much potential!
wow thats a nice place,i would buy it, i wonder how much it would cost
Oh man! Im with you on this one. Full of potential! You make a great realtor. Do you know how much that lil gem is going for? I think you might have mentioned before that some of the rural villages have lots of vacant house such as this. IF so this lil video has sparked up ideas of moving again!
having fixed up a house myself, I can tell you that no one will convince you not to do it yourself… but it will be the last time you do it;) hehe. enjoy it, if you decide to go for it.
@gravityman000 I'm guessing that place is quite a bit older than the current requirements for earthquake proofing calls for. Then again, it's old enough that it's probably old style wood framing so it could be pretty sturdy. Wood is very flexible. Personally, when the big one hits, I want a house made out of down pillows.
Cool vid! you are always so cheerful and positive it's contagious! thanks and have a great one! ^.^
I think you said the post office was open 365 days a week, haha. 🙂
I just wanted to say how grateful I am of your videos. I have always been interested in Japanese culture, and your videos showcase it so well. One day I will visit there.
Thank you,
– Ryan
aww so cutie
It has a nice Japanese touch and character (not in a bad way), but it does look a bit run down as you were saying. I wonder how much it is? In the end of the day it all comes down to the price to buy it and how much it would cost to reconstruct that place. If its from the 1950es or 1960es the standard of water-pipes, sanitation and elictricity becomes the key-factor. Thats what might cost you an arm you rebuild! But can you do it by yourself? Its craftsmen that are expensive and hard to get! ^_^
Don't get to close the ninjas might come out!
Check for soot sprites in the attic xD
As long as the house isn't haunted lol.
well, just think about forthcoming earthquake, you can't just go for the house because it looks good or something. It's shizuoka, isn't it?
