You’ve heard of Okinawa, but have you visited the island of Zamami yet? If not, you’re missing out on a beautiful destination. You’ll need to take a ferry to get to the island, but once you’re there, it’s the perfect place to slow down and relax by/in the water.

Two must-see places are Ama and Furuzamami beache. If you visit Ama Beach during high tide, there’s an excellent possibility you’ll be able to swim with sea turtles as they eat. Furuzamami Beach was awarded two stars by the Michelin Green Guide Japan.

Don’t forget to try some of the local food too! There are many unique Okinawan dishes like tofuyo and mozuku soba.
