Great documentation
I had come across the story of Robert and the spider while researching my ancestry but did not know the story of Arran very well until you directed me to your way too short documentary. 🙂 I so enjoyed watching it!! And thank you for leading me there!

Beautifly made.
If you're looking for somewhere with a connection to Robert the Bruce, you should look at the Paisley Abbey. Marjory Bruce, who was Robert the Bruce's daughter, is said to have died in childbirth in the infirmary of the monastery in Paisley. Her son went on to become Robert I, King of Scots. He was the first king of the Stewart line. The only part of the monastery that can still be seen above ground, is the Paisley Abbey. There is a feature within the Abbey, which is referred to as Princess Marjory's Tomb. It has been opened and totally empty. It was a creation of a previous minister. It's more of a memorial than a tomb, but Marjory is said to have been buried with the grounds of the Paisley monastery, along with some of the Stewart kings.
What time of the year did you film this? Oh and very cool ancestry btw! I'm the Visit My British Isles FB page and group gal.
Nicely shot video. There is an excellent and well researched Film all about Robert the Bruce and his struggles on Netflix, Outlaw King.
I'm from the southend of Arran. I come from the mackinnon family – which is one of the oldest families on arran. It was a local Mackinnon widow that helped him take refuge. She also made her two sons pledge realty to him.
Ohhhh❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’m descended from the DeBrus family as well.I came from his sister’s lineage.Lady Isabel DeBrus.she is my 20th great grandmother. She was widowed and went on to re -marry the King of Norway. She became the Queen Isabel of Norway. Her father,Sir Robert DeBrus Earl of Carrick,6th Earl of Annandale and King Robert the firsts father, was my 21st great grandfather.

I've read that an Arran branch of the Fullerton were one of those that looked after Robert the Bruce in Brodick Bay and a Fergus Fullerton was later awarded with lands by him in Kilmichael, Arran in 1307. I've also read a Fullerton was among the Knights that accompanied The Black Douglas on a journey to take Robert's heart to the Holy Land, unfortunately they both met their end in Spain fighting Moors…oh and I recommend people watch "The Outlaw King" on Netflix especially if you want to know who the Black Douglas is 🙂
Nicely done show. I love Marjorie (the daughter). Her daughter, Joanna, married my ancestor, John Lyon. So, that makes us distant cousins!
My ancestor.
Nice to watch this incredible video.
