This week’s video is particularly for people that are moving to Halifax or Nova Scotia, or thinking about moving to Nova Scotia! However, if you’re not one of those people, you’ll still enjoy the video!

Throughout the video we talk about all the things you might want to know about moving here. Some of the topics we discuss are:

– the main city of Halifax and the neighbourhoods
– the cost of living in Nova Scotia
– the people in Nova Scotia and how friendly they can be
– food and restaurants
– Covid-19 and the Pandemic
– how close you are to beaches in Nature
– The housing market
– weather and climate
– the airport

AfterΒ  walking around downtown Halifax we had outside the city to a community called Musquodoboit Harbour. We booked a rental home for a few days.

Book through AirBNB: https://www.airbnb.ca/associates/441799?s=67&c=.pi115.pk0_9&a4ptk=13459_0_9_441799&af=115

We also explore the area of Musquodoboit Harbour including the Musquodoboit Trailway, The Harbour Brewing Company, the Railway Museum and eventually to the longest beach in Nova Scotia, Martinique Beach.

  1. Only reason i would go to halifax is to eat at K.O.D and look for the trailer park boys.πŸ˜†

  2. its only slower and more laid back to those who dont have to work or worry about money it says in the charter of rights and freedoms that it is the governments responsibility for the security of every citizen then why does it cost $1500 a month to live in Crack Alley?

  3. Hi brother just want to know is it possible to get a part job in nova scotia and it’s safe..I m planning to come there and study from India

  4. Thank you Anna & Trevor for this wonderful video. My wife and I lived in Toronto for 2 years and then 3 1/2 years in a small city, 50 km. from Vancouver, British Columbia. We are now recently moved to the Central Part of Brazil, where my wife is from and we are planning next year, early 2023 to move to the province of Nova Scotia and call this our new home. We want to purchase our first home near the ocean in a smaller city out of Halifax in the province of Nova Scotia. We would love to purchase over 100 acres of land we can grow vegetables and other vegetation on the land. Do you have any suggestions ? Thanks again. I am new here and just subscribed to. your Channel!

  5. Hi! I’ve just discovered you. Congratulation! Very high quality of video and you are very dynamic. Just a suggestion to help people who English is not their first language… It would be great to write the name of the places you present at the bottow because sometimes, I can’t hear them clearly. Keep going!

  6. Hi guys am also living in Uganda the pearl of Africa and ialso need to get a job offer from Halifax and your help as well my name is Lazarus thanks God bless you for your commitment.

  7. I'm hoping for some locals to answer some questions honestly if you could. At some point I would like my wife and I to make Nova Scotia our home. Obviously we want to find out as much as possible. It's of course stunningly beautiful, but I've read conflicting things online, but I'm hoping it's just a couple of jilted people for whatever reason. Someone made mention that people from outside the province aren't always welcomed with open arms, that some places are quite dirty (garbage littered all about) and there is a problem with drinking water, as well as sludge coming out of the pipes. Now, I can't believe this to be true, anyone have any input? I absolutely mean no disrespect, I just want to understand things.

  8. Hey, thank you for the video. I'm from Halifax, and visited for the first time in twenty-three years in 2018. I left when I was nine, so it was a bit smaller than I remembered it – you could actually walk a lot of Halifax. Anyway, would have been great to see the Halifax harbor, The skate park near the Common, Dingle, the bridge to Dartmouth, the two universities, the site of the 1917 harbor explosion, and more. But, again, much appreciated.

  9. Awesome, I haven't been to East Coast and I'm from Montreal. Once covid rule relax, this might be my next vacation this summer.
    Thanks for this video..:)

  10. I really want to move to Nova Scotia. It's looks comfortable, friendly and the scenery is just magnificent! Wish I could move there but my relatives might be won't allowed me.

  11. Moving here in August from the English Halifax. Gonna be a cool experience it seems! Great video. πŸ™‚

  12. Martinique Beach is amazing at night. Stargazing there is a delight. You guys should try it. It's really something else!!!

  13. Worked at the big Swiss Chalet in Halifax, across the street from the cemetery where Titanic drowning victims are buried…..lived down town at the time and use to get the bus to work every morning to that Swiss Chalet…. bused tables once "picking up the dirty dishes" smashed a whole bunch of dishes and glasses! sSmash,…. Crash,…bang,…Smash!!…It was a busy evening but all of a sudden it got deadly quiet.. it was the first and last time busing tables! went back to be one of the two dish washers that are on shift….place is soooo busy two dish washers are required with their own dish washing machines going non stop!! Remember the short Blonde guy that ran the place at the time called me "Gumby" ….so I called him Papa Smurf! LOL …last time he called me Gumby…..Ahh the silly jobs we do as kids haha. : )

  14. More than ever before Halifax is in need of housing. Quality housing that ordinary people can afford. The pandemic has also led to more and more people working from home. Downtown apartments are more and more often the office for someone as well. Governments & business must respond in a more affirmative way to this new reality. When we look at new high rise apartments & condos we need to see them within the reality that people work and live in these buildings. This is urban life in the 21St. Century.

  15. Halifax is an awesome tourist destination, but somewhat depressing to live in. CoL is sky high. And the food kinda sucks.

  16. is there somewhere I can find a full list of outgoings, not just utilities but do you have to pay council tax (covers garbage disposal, cleaning streets, local services)

  17. Hi there guys I
've been following you guys now and have been thinking strongly leaving On and moving my family looks amazing there I love the rural areas I am an ex commercial fisherman and would love to get my sea time back ! Particularly fond of the east shore.

  18. Canada is no good. North America is no good. Used to be able to live very comfortably but now no. It is auto-suiciding. I am going back to Europe. No reason to be here
