  1. Another fine report Dylan. I've taken several DB ICE trains in the past, including the lengthy Berlin-Interlaken route as well as the Hamburg-Copenhagen service which boards a ferry for part of the journey. They are, indeed, impressive. Can't say I've experienced any significant delays with DB but have done with the French TGV. Now subscribed and looking forward to seeing more of your reports!

  2. Love DB and SNCF, travel by train is much more preferable and enjoyable than by air whenever possible. Unfortunately, in the U.S., train service has not been sustained. It was caused by the auto barons, principally by Henry Ford.

  3. Very informative report, thanks. Have only travelled on a German ICE once, that was around 15 years ago when I had a day trip from Hamburg to Berlin and back, as far as I remember the journey was fast and reasonably comfortable. As expected it seems that the standards in terms of comfort have improved very much since then. If only the UK government could develop a nationwide rail system on a par with Germany and France and mainland Europe in general !

  5. Why the fuck does USA not have this kind of a train. Makes me wonder where all the infrastructure money is going. Fuck

  6. Everyone is complaining about the trains in Germany but to be honest I can't. I've traveled a handful of times with the ICE and the only time we were late was in Nürnberg and it were 3 minutes, while on the way back to my hometown we arrived 3 minutes early. Also there's a train right next to my house and you can tell the time by when the trains come because they're that punctual

  7. Excellent video with crisp comments.
Have traveled on DB ICE between FFM and Munchen. Loved it, especially the winding Rhein-Main valley. Always loved the ICE designs, very subtle

  8. Hello I am from Lahore, Pakistan and I love train travel so much even more than air travel. Trains enables you to see the landscape and vastness of the country. That's the key thing to love and travel by trains

  9. At 10:30 when you say it becomes quite scenic, that church and castle is located in the village of Frankenstein outside of Kaiserslautern. My wife an I live about 7km from there. We have hiked up there and seen the trains go by.

  10. I’ve rode the ICE 1 time the IC 4 times the S-bahn 20 times and the Regio-doppeldecker hanse-express 30 times ( the s-bahn is s:stadt:city bahn:train so city-train and the Regio- doppeldecker hanse express is the regional doubeldecker (hanse express is a part of germany where it drives bc the one in the vid coming out of mannheim was from a different part of germany))

  11. Ayyyy you almost passed my house next to a train station west of Saarbrücken!

I'm just wondering, how come you don't carry any luggage? Surely you must have had a longer stay in continental Europe for you to travel around.

  12. I think 15min late is ok for that long distance. If we take the car nobody cares about 15min…

  13. Thanks for capturing the departure of Frankfurt am Mainz. Also the information is really helpful.

    🤔🤔

  15. Very nice trip report on the ICE I like this one the most of of the train series I want to try these in real life 😍 also the experience of travelling very fast 200mph or more on a train

  16. Europe has the finest rail system. I have never been to Europe, but when I watch Rick Steves on tv, and when I see him on a train, I think to myself that it really is convenient to have high speed rail getting you from country to country or city to city

  17. I drove this route last year, its weird how Germany has the fast trains but the bad tracks they cant drive that fast on while France has shitty trains but great fast tracks.
