Far East Asia has more Boeing 747s than any of the other continents. Why is the Boeing 747 so popular in Asia? In this video I share some of the finest B747 flying experiences from Asia; from the First Class private suite to the rear of the Economy Class cabin, it covers all aspects of the 747 journey.

Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Korean Air, Asiana, Philippines Airlines, Malaysia Airlines and Gaurda Indonesia 747s are all featured. I am sharing never before seen and rare footage of these 747 voyages; I hope you will enjoy the journey together with me.

The 747 era may have gone, but the memory and legacy will last forever.

  1. I love the B747 , the Queen of the Skies,…..but to me the Queen of the Skies is the DC-3 Dakota……..Pure beauty

  2. Sam, I watch your travel when I have time. I enjoy it very much, I felt like I was there with you. What is the best airline to book from the USA to Thailand?

  3. My first time of taking plane was travel with Air France B747 from PEK to CDG in year 2000. Then I took Korean Air Airbus 380 from ICN to JFK in year 2020. It was the first time to travel with 380. Sadly, both of them has been eased from stage of airspace.

  4. My 1st flight ever was on a Boeing 747 to Mauritius from France, that flight is always in my heart 34 yrs after

  5. Yep, when my family came to Canada from HK, we came in a Cathay 747-400. The only die-cast airplanes I have are the Boeing 747-400. If I ever build a rc one…it will be a 747 with the Cathay livery. I still have the children fun kit they gave us for the flight.

  6. The memories! I flew PAL's 744 thrice from Manila to Sydney in economy to visit relatives in Australia, BKK to SYD with Thai twice 744 in business, Air China 748 Shanghai to Singapore once, and Korean 748 ICN to SFO 4 times in business with parents as tourists.

  7. One interesting fact about Air China’s Boeing 747 is that one of the few of them were actually Xi Jiping’s personal jet. When it’s not on duty to serve the Chairman, it’s opened for commercial route, so that means you will have a chance to get on a presidential plane if you booked the right flight with air China

  8. Hi Sam, just discovered your videos and newsletter a couple of weeks ago and have already watched dozens…LOVE them! Question: you’ve mentioned recording flights and memories in your “log book.” Just wondering what kind or which log book you use? Thanks so much! Mike

  9. I’m from Singapore and the 747 was the aircraft that made me fall in love with aviation since 7 years old

  10. The 747 has become my favorite plane even though I have never ridden on one. I ordered your air 747 book,so it should arrive at my house this week

  11. I vote Northwest Airlines; LAX-NRT-MNL. Alas, they are no more. Otherwise I vote for the 5th Freedom Routes; Malaysia B744 LAX-MEX and EVA Air B744 LAX-PTY.

  12. I am lucky, since I live in Hong Kong, so I have flown onboard Cathay Pacific 747-400, China Airlines 747-400, Korean Air 747-8i, and even Thai Airways 747-400 in Business Class! I'm hoping to fly onboard the Asiana 747-400 before it gets retired in the future…

  13. Flipinos be like: OMG HE RODE PHILIPPINE AIRLINES 747! until sam says:unfortunately i never flew the Philippine airlines 747 flipino viewers:.. NOOOOOOOOOO!
