Fortunate timing had me in Japan during peak viewing season for their world famous Sakura, AKA cherry blossoms. This collection of time lapses was shot over the course of two weeks in Nagoya, Kyoto, and Sendai as my schedule allowed.

Going into this project I was happy to have the opportunity to shoot a world renowned event, but wasn’t going to let myself buy into the hype and end up disappointed. Having finished I am only disappointed that I couldn’t have spent more time at more locations, and that the bloom is so short lived. The hype is well deserved.

The music, appropriately enough, is a japanese folk song by the title of “Sakura”. https://goo.gl/r1Ygpe
