Meijo Park is a public park on the other side of the moat from Nagoya Castle but too far a walk from the castle grounds. Probably as large as and much less crowded than Tsuruma Park during sakura season. A great place to unwind or picnic before/after visiting hectic Nagoya Castle. One of the coolest things is a big Dutch windmill set in the middle of a tulip garden. A tranquil place to view the gardens of 4 seasons and flower exhibits and walk in the sunshine. On the west and south sides of the park is a large pond to take photos with Nagoya Castle in the background.
Directions: Access from Meijō Kōen Station exit 2 on Meijo subway line. Nagoya Castle is 1 stop away at Shiyakusho station, exit 7.
