    I once was upgraded by the airline by mistake from economy to business. The flight was from London to Bangkok. By the time they realised the mistake I had already enjoyed a delicious meal .Would I pay for business class . Probably not.

    Hi Dan, thanks for sharing! I can understand why you feel service on BR is less polished than SQ. The first batch of stewardess were trained by NH and the crew mix is not as international as Qatar nor Singapore. If you speak Chinese though Eva earns some points back. They usually get what I am looking for by mere eye gesture. That is, only in J class

    It’s a great airline seat! But I do think they’re livery and cabin is lacking in character. I notice it is very common with Chinese Airlines unfortunately!

    TBh you cannot beat this airline in customer service. Back in 2019, before the pandemic, i flew them from Houston to Bali Indonesia. The original flight for departure was Houston to Taipei, then on to Indonesia. But on the night of my flight, it was an extreme red eye that suppose to board around 12 to 1am central us time, Houston had a massive downpour of rain. It flooded over the runways, shutting down the airport for several hours. I only had a 4 hour layover and my flight was delayed by 6 hours. I was pretty nervous when I took off but just thought I'd figure something out when I landed. After I landed in Taipei, I saw a airline customer service representative with both mine and one other passenger who was booked on the same 2 flights from Houston to Bali. They had already booked us on a flight over Hong Kong and then down to Bali. They whisked us through the airport as we had little time and before we knew it, we were in our flight. I was in my seat when a flight attendant approached me with a phone that had a picture of my checked bag. She asked me if I recognized the picture. They had sent someone with a camera to take a picture of my bag to make sure it was moved off my old flight and onto this one. Blew my mind. I made it to Hong Kong to find another airline representative waiting for me and the other passenger to whisk us through the back pathways as the other flight was already boarding. No way we would have made it without that assistance. And before I knew it, I was sitting in Bali with 0 overall pain all due to EVA.

    And the kicker was that I was flying basic Economy. They did all of this for the lowest tier of ticket. Absolute legend of an airline right here.

    Just booked a flight JFK-TPE-ICN and I'm sitting in this exact seat based almost exclusively on your recommendation! 88k United Miles and $5.60. The 2.5 hours leg from TPE to ICN is in economy on Asiana but seemed worth it for a 16 hour flight to TPE from JFK in EVA business! Love your stuff and thanks for always posting. Makes decision making so much easier!
