  1. Why didn't you video this from the front of the train, or post this video going in reverse, so that it looks like normal, rather than saying goodbye; backwards ?

  2. .. good points! – The front was full of people, but I could have reversed this back view – didn't think of it at the time though ..

  3. Dear G.
    Thanks for your response.
Hey, don't worry; now that you said the monorail was crowded.
    .
I hadn't thought it was full the place (monorail stops) look a bit deserted.
    .
Hope you had a great vacation.
    .
    Cheers.
    from,
    del-boy.

  4. As a former worker, I can tell you there ain't anything special at the front of the Monorail, just a driver and a few buttons… That's all… Also have to be careful filming the front, they don't really like it, unless you have Permission…

  5. Monorails are too slow compare with other transportations ,here in los Angeles Disneyland it has been running since 1958 and its too slow for me

  6. .. yes the one in Sydney is more for tourists and the like, who are out for a nice ride. Its not for commuters

  9. This is a great looking monorail track and could be set on top of steel beams incased in a stucco treatment to save water

  10. If this thing was built bigger and included Circular Quay and it may have been useful. Sadly it became an expensive tourist joy ride. Typical Australia…doing it by half again

  11. Yes, from what I saw, it was mainly used by tourists. It is a bit like Melbourne's City Circle tram, but the tram is free and uses existing track

  12. Yeah, the monorail will close on June 30 sunday. But I'm not sure where the monorail will be exactly going.

  13. It's been removed because its depot is in the redevelopment area of darling harbour……it the same reason the trams were removed in the 60s…..it's depot was where the opera house is. They sold the land to developers….not because they didn't do there job.

  14. I think so! In a couple of years people will look back on this video and wonder why they took it down – IMHO

  15. 非常好,我已将您的视频发布在中国的网络上,因为中国人看不到youtube。如果您有什么已经请通知我。谢谢!

  16. Umm, the trams were removed for many reasons. None of them valid but it had nothing to do with fort Macquarie depot.
The Monorail was removed because Haymarket station and track were in the way of new development.

  17. In Wuppertal/Germany there is a monorail still in operation – since 1901. It's an important part of public transport, so there is no special ticket needed. So, Sydney seem to have missed an opportunity here.
