Curitiba is definitely not a city most English speakers know anything about and it’s such a shame. Located in the south of Brazil, it is a city of 2 million people and some very cute capybaras.     7:35 the biggest ukranian community in Brazil is located in our State, mostly in Prudentópolis.
    8:48 it's the biggest of Brazil – also de largest italian community is located in Curitiba. Curitiba is well known as a "european city" because of the immigrations during world war.
    16:20 I just don't agree we are underrated. We are recognized often about the green and modern stuff, startups (we have 3 unicorns) and all. The problem is people only talk about Rio e São Paulo, but Brazil is huge and multicultural. We are the size os Europe, imagine that! Brazil could be divided into 30+ countries if we were in Europe.

    that yellow fence in the tower, I hitted my forehead there when I was younger, so yeah, glad to see its is there still, it survived the impact.

    There's no such thing as safe cities in Brazil. Curitiba is not an exception. There are lots of homeless people in the streets, as well as drug dealers, addicted people and robbers, especially in the downtown. So.. watch out, be careful and enjoy the city.

    A cidade é linda, porém muito perigosa.
    Fui a turismo e fui sequestrado em pleno calçadão da 15 de novembro.
    Muito perigosa a cidade, pois a região metropolitana é muito pobre e os bandidos aproveitam para assaltar turistas, os próprios policiais me disseram isso.
    Muito cuidado ao andar pela cidade.

    Curitiba is a great city, I used to live there, lots of exciting things to do, but it's not that safe, really, as people imagine. Its murder rate, for example, is a lot higher than in São Paulo: 16.7 per 100,000 people, against 7.7 in SP. In this respect, Curitiba is closer to Rio (19,2/100k), unfortunately (Atlas da Violência 2021, published two weeks ago).
