Surprisingly, we’ve never had the chance to try authentic Egyptian cuisine, so while in Cairo, Egypt, with the help of our Airbnb host, we had ourselves a DIY food tour to taste different Egyptian foods and dishes from our Egypt “foods-to-try” list. These are our first impressions of Egypt’s best eats!

Loved this video 😊
So sweet how nice the ppl are over there. Warms my heart. ❤️ All the food looked so amazing. Love that you two were able to try a lot of great food. So cool and thank you both for such a great video and sharing it with us all. 💕🥰
Awesome video to see the simple life & how you were welcomed by the locals!!!!!
Sometime make a video of how you plan all your trips especially the AirB&Bs & tours 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thanks for another great video. Watching this made me so hungry. I have to find a recipe for baba ganoush now as you've given me a real craving for it. 😋
How wonderful that you have Ashraf! What an amazing experience he is helping you with!!! Safe travels!
Truly such an amazing place! And the food 🤤 can’t wait for the rest of your adventures!!
Hope to stay with Ashraf soon 🥺 what a swell guy!! ❤️❤️❤️
What a way to tour Cairo, Egypt! You found a terrific guide who took you to all the right places and he even invited you to his country home. The food looked fabulous. All the food looked delicious, but I would have stuffed myself with the Egyptian pita bread! You might say how does he know what Egyptian pita bread taste like. Well, I ate a ton of fresh Egyptian pita bread with fried langoustinos on the bank of the Nile River when I was in Alexandria, Egypt, which was years ago.
One of the greatest blessings from traveling around the world is getting to meet all kinds of super nice people and taste all the authentic cuisine of the local delicacies. Looks like you two are enjoying yourself once again now in Egypt, good for you! 🙂
The best tomato soup I have ever eat was in Cairo 🍅 Thanks for sharing Egypt. Love your channel 💑 Cheers 🍲🍲🧔
Just met your uncle in medlock plaza Decatur GA #laundromat
This was awesome! The food looks really good. One day I’ll make it there. For me is a little strange to eat with my hands, I don’t like the sticky, slimy feeling of foods, that would be my first cultural shock.
Its called basbousa not babousa, babousa is a bad word in egyptian arabic 😂😂
We would love to try that food somedsy
So glad you decided to stay local! No other way to experience the culture. The sugar crash after those sweets..ooooh yumyumyumn the cabbage or knorm maashi is sooooooo yum! oooh the eggplant!! I love that – with kebab and kofta OMG. IM SO HUNGRY!
Hahaha, if okra were a soup! Yup! I agree. It's yummy with rice.
If you're still there, ask Ashraf to bring you to Ablaa where you can have roasted pigeon. And I saw you have van life OMG my obsession! Can't wait to have time to catch up on your videos!!
Have fun in Egypt. I never made it there living in Europe. I think it was a bit sketch politically at the time. I think you're making a great tourism video for Egypt that will help resuscitate the tourist there after the revolution.
I like baklava very much
What a wonderful life experience and I love the history surrounding your trip
Delicious and Rich in Culture 😋💯❤️
♥️
Just WOOOOOOOOW ☀️😋🙏🏽💯
Thank You Both for sharing and bringing me along 💗🙋🏽♀️💯
So happy to heard positive impression about visiting Egypt .
Lol, You have a great host, Ash is great. Great place to stay in Giza.
Hey guys! Hello from Ukrainians❤ It was a pleasure to meet you in Egypt. We wish you a good next trip!
plz donot come again and tell the story to everyone ..i was normally walking to ride my uber at talaat harb square cairo and suddenly an aggressive with bad attitude guy wearing as a normal citizen asked me for my ID,, i asked him why should i do that ! he told me he is a police ,, then i asked him to show me his badge or id 1st to prove that he is a police politely and then i will show him my id .he instantly shouted at me and started screaming and accused me to be crazy just for asking this question !!! .. the moment i tried to film what happened to me they forced and aggressively took my mobile and started seeing my personal stuff including facebook, whatsapp ..etc..after 3 hours of humiliation and crying by tears ,they let me go after they didn't find any wrong thing.. i felt scared and under real threat in my own country .. they tried to drag me to the police car with no reason and no one showed me his badge or ID .. plz stay safe and thank and pray to god that you are from a country that defends their citizens unlike egypt who insults their own citizen !!.. if it is a must then donot move without your passport not just the id and threaten them that you will go to the embassy ,,and police may abuse you to take your money also….stay safe
Tamaya and Falafel are the same things, It`s Taamya in Cairo, and in Alexandria, they call it Falafel, It`s one of the foods that Egyptian Orthodox Christians eat while in their fasting time, as they aren`t allowed to eat any animal.
my mouth is watering, guys 🤤♥
only the people that tried this food will know my feelings right now 😂😂
You actually did a great job pronouncing the names in Arabic. Kudos
You don't eat mulukhiya like this, you either put it on rice then eat it, or the more traditional way is widn el-otta * cat's ears* which is cutting small bread pieces like a cats' ears then put it in the plane and eat it, that's probably why you didn't get the whole experience of it xD
But I'm happy for you, you seem to have a good time <3
i love your videos
I'm Egyptian. I loved the video. Your smile is nice
This is not for eating 8:44

I married my Egyptian husband a little over a year ago and we are still waiting for him to come to America. I have been to Egypt 3 times now and it always feels like home to me. The people are SO AMAZING and accepting. Watching you try the foods…I remember the first time I had all of those. It made my heart happy. I really miss my second home.
