The Tenryu Hamanako Railway operates the 67.7km Tenryu Hamanako Line (Tenhama Line for short) between Kakegawa and Shinjohara, both on the JR Tokaido Main Line, but via the northern side of Hamanako (Hamana lake). It is non-electrified and mostly rural, with a number of interesting stations. Each of its DMU cars are painted in a different livery. One of several interesting lines in Shizuoka.
