JustPlanes flightdeck filming of the Canadian North Boeing 737-200. For the fill film http://www.worldairroutes.com/canadian.html

Ten years ago we first visited Canadian North and we’re delighted to be visiting this great airline again mostly because it allows us to feature a full program now in HD on this fantastic aircraft which is becoming harder to find as time goes by. The program covers half a dozen great destinations out of the airline’s Edmonton hub with some great approaches and very nice scenery. Most importantly we have 2 sets of pilots who go above and beyond to present every aspect of the 737-200 in complete details to you and take you step by step through each flight as they explain what they’re doing and how each flight progresses.
+ Cockpit filming using 6 cameras for great views on takeoff & landing!
+ Program shows several wing views on takeoff/landing including trust reverser operation
+ Company Presentation
+ Pilot Presentations
+ Briefings & Checklists
+ Cockpit set-up
+ Cockpit Presentations
+ External Walkaround
+ Fantastic scenery

  1. I love the 737-200, but whenever I hear about this aircraft, there is always mention of the rudder problems. Is that still an issue on the few 732's flying today, or did they fix it?

  2. I fell in love with aviation BECAUSE of this airplane. 18 years later, as a real pilot, I could never dream of flying an airplane like this one, the last "real" airplane to my eyes.

  3. The cargo door seems unusually large!I was wondering if all 737s are made with a large door in fuselage to load cargo inside the cabin? Or, are they a "special edition" or model?

  4. I love Canadian North's livery – I think it's the best in the business. Unique, colourful, powerful. It was penned by Dawn Oman of Yellowknife. I built a 1:144 Airfix 737-200 kit with JBOT Canadian North decals. It holds pride of place on my desk.

  5. Until 5.58 that is just another cockpit video, altough already quite interesting but that is personal opinion. Now at 5.58 with the music setting in and the fabulous taxi over the camera pass this becomes truly a marvellous and emotional video, simply from beauty and motion together. Nicely done JP. Congrat !!

  6. That guy looks like he's related to Pete Carroll (Coach of the Seattle Seahawks)

  7. I'm assuming you guys are tuning the radios to the air to air frequency and broadcasting on that frequency to talk to the camera?

Surely there's an easier way to do that. Can't you just record the aircraft's intercom system instead of broadcasting on the radio??

  8. I love the sound of the JT8D. My opinion is that when it comes to civilian aircraft only the Olympus 593 sounded better. Those were good times!

  9. I was happy to see a 737-200 which happened to be a Canadian North cargo relief flight today at SJU. This is probably my favorite jet.

  10. My Dad flew this type for 3 airlines in the North. Transair, PWA and Canadian. He was both 1st officer and Captain. A VERY robust, versatile aircraft.

  11. I have wonderful memories of my first ever flight in an aircraft, and subsequent flights on the 737-200. That was in 1984. Auckland to Christchurch unaccompanied with Air New Zealand. I've been in love with Boeing aircraft from that day onwards.

  12. I fly this airline regularly, and when I was sitting next to a guy he said to the flight attendant "I've been all over the world and this is the only airline that still feeds you." They still do, and they're hot meals and included in your ticket. They fly from Edmonton to Inuvik and back again every day, with stops in Yellowknife and Norman Wells. I usually catch the morning or evening flights from YZF to YEG (or back), and that's when they give you breakfast or dinner. Oh, and the plane that flies that route is the -300. Needless to say I love this airline 😀

  13. Lovely video. But instead of describing the terrain around Iqualuit(?) and other stops, why were there no cockpit views of any of these approaches?! I appreciate the feedback from the crew, but this IS YouTube and we…I…would prefer to see it rather than explained to us.

  14. my flight experience i was 10 and remembered it well was on a 737-200 peoples express ..love the engine reverse on landing how the cover of the comes off and slows the speed down …My parents on that flight saved the safety card and still have it ..

  15. Great vid, LOVE the 737 Classic.
    Such a tough versatile airplane
Say hello to my buddy Capt. Kevin Boyne, from Bob & Summer

  16. I love it. My Uncle Stan used to fly the 737-275 for Pacific Western. He was the Captain on flight 501 when they had an uncontained rupture of an engine while on takeoff roll in Calgary in Mar. 1984. Aborted and all survived. There were burn injuries, both major and minor. Very close call. Plane burned to ground.
