This summer I am traveling Vietnam, escaping Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) for a month or more and seeing some parts of Vietnam I have never seen before whilst travel vlogging all of it. Travel and vlog (remote work) is hard to do at the same time so I am glad to not be traveling alone. I have some time to throw out a personal update. I am in Đà Nẵng right now, a bustling beach resort city and it’s chill and I like it here.. This is my Vietnam travel update 2022, I am in Da Nang Vietnam now, the Miami of Vietnam, as I have heard it said and I am exited to show you what it has to offer. Filmed on the beach in 4k resolution.

Thank you very much everyone for all the love you send my way. I assure you, the feeling is mutual.

I am an American Expat in Ho Chi Minh City, (Saigon) Vietnam. (I dislike the word Expatriate). I have lived in Vietnam for 3 years, I am almost considered an expert at living abroad. As I live, work and travel in Vietnam and south east Asia, I want to take you around with me to show you what I saw in Vietnam, in South East Asia and talk with you about my experiences living in Saigon HCMC and take you with me as I travel vlog around Vietnam and South East Asia in 2022. I am not a backpacker but I started by wanting to backpack through South East Asia. I was going to just visit of vacation, but I was going to take part in tourism activities. I was going to be a globetrotting tourist but I never really planed to document mytravels. Was going to be a long holiday trip, maybe I would become a digital nomad. But I knew Vietnam would be my home when I got here, now Saigon is my home, where I work and live, but I still plan to motor bike across Asia, motovlog Vietnam, moto vlog South East Asia, dare I motorbike into China? And also fly around South East Asia, to tour and travel, But for now, this is my Vietnam life, my HCMC Saigon life, my expat life. I always thought living abroad would be scary, but it’s interesting and fulfilling. The food is amazing, the culture is fascinating and the people are friendly and welcoming. If you ever wanted to take the leap to travel and live abroad, Tourism in Vietnam is buzzing right now since Vietnam reopens. I am often asked: are Vietnam borders open? Yes indeed, tourism reopened in 2022. Want to know what I saw in Vietnam and my life in HCMC Saigon. What I think about Vietnam and traveling and living abroad? What to do in Vietnam? How do live in Asia? What to do in Saigon? How to work, or work as a teacher in Asia? How to get a visa or what a digital nomads life could be like in Asia or Vietnam? What is it like to be an Expat in Vietnam and South East Asia? I am an expat, a Saigon Vlogger, a HCMC vlogger, a moto vlogger, a lifestyle vlogger, a digital nomad resource, a Saigon nightlife vlogger, an immigrant, a migrant worker. I make vlogma videos, (wth is vlogma) I want a daily vlog, but ain’t got the time. But I can do a video diary, which makes me an online creator. Why anyone would watch vloggers as bad as me, I don’t know. Sometimes I make food vlogs, foodporn? Did you know yum in Vietnams mean “horn..”, well, neverminded. I hope you will feel encouraged by my channel. I will show you a lot of things like how to live abroad, how to be a digital nomad, how to work in Asia, how to experience Vietnam, how to make friends and build a life in Asia, how to enjoy the culture and food. How to be a gamer in Asia. How to live a life in Asia, like a normal person. How to be a happy person. I am not a Vietnam digital nomad in HCMC. But I know a few. Did you actually read all that? Tell me in the comments that you did and I will give you shoutout in my next video.

  2. Adam well done love the video Da Nang looks great. Love the content like this keep these coming. Enjoy the trip north!

  3. The beauty of the beach in this video captivate my attention and interest. I've got refreshed by the content of this video.😀👍👍

  4. The content is fine. I doubt many people are looking for slick editing or show-off type content. There's enough of that on YouTube already. Just keep being yourself.

    Bonne continuation

  6. What a beautiful place! I dislike buses, as you said, you have to be stuck to their schedule. In the same vein, I hate organised tours, as I hate having to wake up early and having say only 10 minutes to visit a particular place, when you want to stay longer or skip it altogether.
Please show your hotel and how much it costs. I intend to visit next year and any info on accommodation is always useful.

  7. me and my wife will finally be back after 3 years, doing saigon / da nang / hoi an / hanoi / ha long / back to saigon….. going for two months might have to take my xbox if the internet is good enough to play on

  8. Hey that was me honking at you Adam …I was in the Red Ferrari! Lol hit the thumbs up! Catch ya in there soon peace out!

  9. Love your videos Gamer! Wish I would have done something like you're doing when I was younger. I just didn't have the nerve. Good luck to you!

  10. Found ya from hearing of you in a Fb stream. Anything Vietnam, I watch. You got some really interesting videos, if I may say so myself. I’d recommend uploading simple walk and talk first impressions videos every city you visit in realtime rather than dumping 70+ videos after you edit them in Saigon. YouTube rewards those you are consistent and relevant. I enjoy watching a vlogger’s journey in realtime rather than a journey they did months ago. You got good stuff and keep them coming!

  11. All good mate keep doing what you're doing and have an awesome time. I'll be in HCMC on Friday at 930pm and i hope to be drunk by 1230am.

  12. Hi Adam looks like the weather is amazing there all there clear blue sky better then all the rain in Saigon You guys should rent a standard bike and do the Son Tra Peninsula trail stop by the lady buda and then join the trail near the intercontinental hotel and end up at the Naval base You should really try to get to ba na hills it is a nice drive out there on a bike . Da Nang is a great city enjoy your holidays

  13. No pictures of the Da Nang Dragon Bridge? You should have headed a little further north, OVER the Hai Van Pass (if you go UNDER they put your wheels in a truck and give you a ride through the HV tunnel on a bus).

Four or five hours later you are in Hue – the former Royal Capital. VNese love visiting the city.

Hoi An is only 30 minutes south of Da Nang by motorcycle.

You mentioned markets, most wholesale markets (you mentioned a beach market) are when the boats head in. BUT PHAN THIET (on the coastal route to HCM) is different. It has a MIDNIGHT MARKET with an amazing selection of foodstuffs where many HCM food wholesalers get their supplies for resale to retailers.

The MIDNIGHT MARKET is immediately to the coast side (east) of the town centre. It is floodlit to resemble daylight, the DEAD ON 06.00H the floods go off and the market vendors refresh their stalls and put different foodstuffs on sale.

If you exit the town centre, over a bridge, then immediately turn right and follow the road around you will find hotels on the left and HUTS on the right. Beyond the huts are beaches that are always devoid of people.

By the way, the HUTS are full of pots of Nước mắm (Fish Sauce) busy fermenting in large earthenware pots. Be aware that there is a difference between nước chấm and nước mắm. Nước chấm is the name for GENERIC SAUCES whereas nước mắm is the name of a SPECIFIC SAUCE.

Nước mắm is made with anchovies, mackerel, 'scabbard' fish, and salt (ratio is 6 of fish to 1 of salt) which is placed in the earthenware pot. Then the pot is filled with very pure sea water and then nature takes over. I know the exact process but Westerners can call it fermentation. The pot water level is topped up every so often and the fermentation continues for about 6 months.

The protein levels and salinity are strictly verified with samples of each batch tested by the Quality Control Departments of Agriculture and Forestry-Fisheries.

Phuo Quoc Island has nước mắm production but there the fermentation is around a year and the product quality is the best.

On the road back to HCM there are several PUBLIC TOILETS where you are required to take your shoes off and put flip-flops on. The flip-flops are wet, but don't worry – it isn't urine, they rinse the slippers off after each use.

FOR PEOPLE CONTEMPLATING going by motorcycle/cycle along the coast, remember you can put your wheels on a "local" (slow) train to wherever you want to go. They do request stops and pickups even in the middle of nowhere.

FOR RAIL ENTHUSIASTS, studying how the VNese interweave fast & slow trains travelling in both directions on a single track is truly a marvel to watch.

ENTERING DA NANG by rail, you go right downtown. BUT BE AWARE, many tourists get alarmed. If you enter DA NANG seated facing the direction of travel, you will leave – in the same seat – facing the rear of the train. They don't have rail rotators in Da Nang and there is but a single line to downtown.

So they connect a new engine to what was the rear of the train, then head out towards HCM which is south of Da Nang. Locals always get a laugh when tourists quickly grab their stuff, ready to jump off the train!
