Day 5 of the Japan trip. An interesting part of our trip in Japan 🙂
One of the most clean, modern, pleasant cities I’ve ever visited. Also, interestingly, the City uses a Tram system as its main public transport system.

Here we stayed at the Hiroshima Branch of K’s House hostel.
We arrived early, got city maps from the information point in Hiroshima station, jumped on a street car to the nearest stop to the hostel.
As we couldn’t check in til after 3pm, we dropped off our bags and decided to go a wander around the city.
As you can see in the video, it was a glorious sunny day so we decided to walk =) We traveled to the A-Bomb dome, which was truly an eye opening experience. A very emotional place.
However before we arrived we stopped off at one of Japans many games arcades, and spent a silly amount of money trying the UFO machines to win prizes 😛 Chris was lucky enough to win a Sasuke figurine 😀
After visiting the A-Bomb dome, we walked across to Heiwa Park (Peace Park). Which was really quite nice and pleasant 🙂
We also found an underground mall where we met some Sanfrecce Hiroshima football players 😀

We then traveled back to the hostel for check in, stopped in at a Lawson’s convenience store where we got yakisoba noodles 😀 They even microwaved them for us! 😀 So lunch was enjoyed, greatly, Chris had a nap, and I watched a little tv.
When the sun set, we decided to head to Hiroshima port for the beginning of the fireworks festival! It was fantastic, lots of couples all dressed up in Yukata, stalls selling beer and hamburgers. The fireworks themselves were breathtaking. I think this was one of the most memorable days we spent in Japan. I still can’t believe we did so much in just a single day. It’s amazing what you can do when you just… Go and do things 😛

Why did I write all of this, detailing every little thing we did? Because I enjoy remembering everything about this trip 🙂

  1. @2tinytreasures Sorry for the late reply.. I didn't think people would comment on these videos!! haha
Well when I was in Japan we got a Japan Rail Pass which let us use shinkansen, metro, regular trains etc for free. Lasts about a week and only cost about £167. I think a Shinkansen from tokyo to Hiroshima would actually cost about £80… So it's well worth it ^.^

  2. @chi81216 Me too ^^ I still have so many videos to make 😛 this is alll from last year haha. Next is Osaka, Nagano and Fukushima.. Then I was in Tokyo for 3 weeks =|
