Located in the Naka-ku central ward of Hiroshima, Nagomitei Tanakaya is the place to savor the local delicacies of the prefecture, like succulent oysters, at a reasonable price. Headed by Tanaka Katashi, a chef with over 35 years of experience, guests are sure to enjoy the freshest local seafood, prepared with the utmost diligence and care.

Two of the specialty dishes at Nagomitei Tanakaya are the overnight-grilled conger eel (quite possibly the only restaurant where you can try this dish in the entire prefecture), and the “hitori-nabe” (hot pot for one) which welcomes solo diners to enjoy a hot, comforting meal at the counter.

  2. EATING ALONE IN JAPAN is becoming more and more common and popular!! it used to be kinda stigmatized here, especially for women, like something must be wrong with you. happy to see things are changing!!
