This was shot through the windscreen at various places between Aioi and Tsudo and at a couple of locations on the return. It finishes at Aioi with a Tobu Limited Express Ryomo service coming in to the station just as two of the Watarase trains are crossing. The clip is as much or more about the trip than the trains themselves and is typical of many lightly trafficked lines in Japan. I captured the trailable points ( US = switches ) being run through and there is a looking back shot where you will see them reverse after the train clears.

Love watching these Japanese rural lines. Almost as much as watching the antics of Japanese rail staff. Top video.
That is one beautiful railroad.
Does it not seem as if they are going super slow ? I guess those crazy grades and tangent curves limit any kind of high speed. Great video! such great scenery ! the mountains and such! some bad ass railroad here!! Any freight share this line ?
@iRECKONER No freight. Locals and sightseeing only.
Great job!

@WilliamGruff I was until the earth moved. The trip had to be abandoned.
@Rocketboy1950 I'm home and in one piece, thanks. I was one day ahead of it when I left the area that was devastated.
Should be beautiful with the trees in bloom.
Beautiful Scenery! Amazing to see all those stone retaining walls + no graffiti anywhere
