Today I want to bring you to one of the most wonderful parks here in Japan, the Hitachi seaside park in Ibaraki prefecture, perfect location for a one day trip from Tokyo.

Hitachi Seaside Park is located on the Pacific Ocean side of the Japanese coast, and incorporates a unique natural environment of sand dunes, forests, grasslands and springs. With a total space of 350 hectares, of which 200 hectares are open to the pacific, this huge spacious park is home to a variety of colorful flowers and grasses throughout the four seasons, as well as numerous other attractions, including an amusement park, large grassland, cycling and BMX tracks, a forest athletics field, BBQs surrounding by nature, and many cafes and restaurants.

9:30–17:00 (March 1 – July 20, September 1 – October 31)
9:30–18:00 (July 21 – August 31)
9:30–16:30 (November 1 – end of February)

Closed Mondays, EXCEPT as below:
+Closed on Tuesday if Monday is a national holiday.
+Closed on December 31 and January 1 and for 4 days from the first Tuesday in February through the following Friday.

-Please note that the park is open EVERY DAY during the following periods:

Spring: March 26 – May 31
Summer: July 21 – August 31
Fall: October 1 – 31
