  1. I live in Monterey, Big Sur being in my backyard. It is not what you think it’ll be. You cannot go into any of the beaches in Big Sur, it’s dangerous and illegal. And that little tropical piece isn’t as tropical looking as video editing makes it out to be you can also only take a photo of it from a distance you can’t actually go see or touch the waterfall. This is because tourism here is insane and has caused the cities to close off a lot of things to preserve it. The most you’ll do here is sight see and eat really expensive food that would probably taste better homemade. Just letting you all know, as a local.
