On our family road trip, we spend time in Redwood National and State Parks in California. There is so much to do and see that it becomes nature’s playground and school for RVing with kids.

WOW Karl Knapp Trail I wonder if He's a distant relative of Mine???
I know your probably gone from California, but on Highway 1 south of Big Sur, just north of San Simeon there is an beach that Elephant seal's are there almost year around. It's a birthing area, juvenile males are there. It's on their water route. There is a walkway all the way up & down the beach. So cool being so close & hearing all the sounds they make.. There is just so much up & down the coast line.
so cool to see you guys exploring where I live!!
It'll be hard Hensley don't become a biologist, or very connect with environment sciences. And she and her generation will have a epic work to amend (if possible) what the former generation is destroying.
Never found a 4 leaf clover. Not for lack of looking either 🍀
Such a great experience for the whole family. What great memories you are making! The kids look so tiny compared to the trees! Stay safe! Jane in SC 🙏🏻❤️
Online it says Patrick's Point was changed to Sue-meg Point so it will be known by its Indigenous Yurok name. It's part of a statewide effort to identify and change derogatory names attached to parks and transportation systems.
Those trees are spectacular! We saw so many in Muir Woods when we went to SF. The trees did actually inspire the Ewok Forrest on Endor!
I loved seeing the sea lions and enjoyed seeing the red woods. Hope the kids enjoyed it. This will be a nice memory later on when they are grown for them. It was fun watching you all on this journey. Learning about the trees that was great. I like that tree that ended up surging no mater what it went through. And the couple that saved the trees in the red wood forest. Thank you for this journey. Love the video. Can’t wait to see the next adventure. Hope you have a great night and week and see you soon!
Guys if you're heading north and into Oregon on 101 it just keeps getting better and better and better and if that's the case and you heading north on 101 be sure that you stop at Chinook winds they've got a wonderful buffet there and you absolutely have to make the stop at depoe Bay for saltwater taffy and you got to make the stop and Tillamook for Tillamook cheese and ice cream and the Tillamook smoker for pepperoni and summer sausages out of this world and then there's Garibaldi in the wharf and just passed Garibaldi about two and a half 3 mi is a state park call barview and you will find that dry camping for you is going to be rather inexpensive there the beach is easy walk so the jetty and have yourself a campfire there's tide pools there and a heck of a lot to learn but you really got to hit the ice cream I love the cherry vanilla but the huckleberry wow it's all worth it you enjoy Oregon I miss it I'm in South Carolina now I grew up there 😎🤠🌺😍 man do I miss Oregon don't miss stopping at the viewpoints and if you get an opportunity go out and go crabbing in a boat need tarts Bay is a good place to do that huckleberries ought to be coming in right now all depends on what you want to do you take care and enjoy Love Phil 🤠
Our son just found a four leaf clover a few days ago! 🙂
Every time we think of leaving WA and moving somewhere else, we look at all nature had to offer us here, and we just can’t say goodbye. Traveling is in our blood and we enjoy that immensely, but coming home to the PAC NW is blessed as well. God created one beautiful piece of land we get to live on for a short time. I’m so glad you all have had an opportunity to enjoy the West Coast on this journey!
I love seeing California thru fresh eyes. It makes me feel even more blessed to live here.
Thanks for sharing since I can't do these hikes it gives me a personal experience❣️love that you still visit churches where ever you go too🙏❣️
I never found one but my daughter finds them all the time
My husband and I moved from Crescent City CA. Last year . Crescent Citybis on the coast there in the heart of redwood national forest. Part of return of the Jedi was filmed in the trees outside of Crescent City. My husband was a rebel trooper in the film , so yes the ewoks were there .
Hey guys just checking in. The family and I watched for years and stopped when he <J+J YT uploads went to weekly. It just wasn't the same any more. We miss watching!… I completely understand your choice. Things are so expensive
now.
In short will you ever return to more frequent YT uploads?
Thanks! Love u guys
fantastic video! What lucky children to have such loving parents, great adventures, and hands on learning!!!
How do you get drone footage in a national park?
Great footage/ Looks fun for all of you !
Thank you for sharing your Redwoods saga with us. We've been three times to different areas to play in the BIG trees. Nathan, you mentioned Hensley and J.J. running and playing, Me, too! I think the power of these quiet giants render us into children again. We saw large groups of Sea lions on the beaches as we traveled from Big Sur south on Hwy. 1/101. We had to stay at a private campground across the road from Big Sur (as they had an entire loop closed). I don't know how my husband got our Jay Feather 24' in the site, honestly. We had a enormous Redwood right out of our camper door, and the Big Sur river at our feet. We were swimming in the ocean, not for long, but people were looking at us like we were crazy! Not going all of the way to the Pacific and not getting in the water.
So so good! Thank you for sharing your personal struggles. You guys are always so cheery and positive all the time so it’s kind of a relief to hear it’s not always sunshine and roses. You can’t stay mad for long living in such a small space. BTW, where the heck was everybody? I’m sure it was nice having the forests and beach all to yourselves.
Haha, when you said you had seen bears digging in trash cans I thought, I bet it was in Tahoe, and then of course you flashed that footage. Lol. I live in Reno and those Tahoe bears are pretty predictable. 😂
Thankyou for sharing.
Started the coast trip in April at Port Angeles in Washington and followed hwy 101 down the coast to SF. Wait till you can get on hwy 1 further south. Did it all in a 35 ft 5th wheel.
I hated science and struggled so hard in school to learn it. I am a hands on person not a text book. This is the absolute best way to learn. Your kids are growing up with such an amazing education of the world, history, science, mapping, States, and I guarantee all those little things that go wrong on the road and watching you both and I’m sure as a family find solutions for is going to make for one hell of an education. #blessed ❤️
My fondest memories are the hundreds of kids K-thru-8 in school. I couldn’t imagine giving that part of my childhood up to live on the road.
Awesome video , what time of the year we’re you guys there ?
