A trip report of the Jetstar 787 Business Class Honolulu to Sydney.
The fare matches the seat, with Jetstar 787 Business Class offering up just a basic recliner that would normally be seen in Premium Economy.
However, the meals are great, and there is a friendly service. A dedicated crew for the small cabin means service is attentive and efficient.
There is also complimentary seatback TV with films, snacks, and the bar opens from early into the flight. There is even a welcome glass of champagne and lounge access before the flight.
Alas, of most surprise, were the other passengers, who could be mildly eccentric.

Nice video, love your reviews!
Love it so much thank you
The 'nervous flyer' should have moved. Crazy! You certainly hit the jackpot with inconsiderate people on that flight. 🙂
Jetstar Business is a decent long haul premium economy offering, although I have always thought it a little disingenuous to call it business class. The main issue is the other passengers – often a bunch of wannabes who think they are actually flying a real business class for once in their lives. Lucky you weren’t on the Bali flight!
i will call it premium eco .Good job
Every Australian and Kiwi I’ve met have told me to avoid Jetstar – not because of the airline; but the bogans who fly it.
This is bizarre lol! Never heard of crew going along with passengers like that. They all should have moved elsewhere.
I thought the American rules were you didn't need to wear a mask on the plane anymore
Flew JetStar in Australia just last 4 weeks almost twice, first flight from Perth to Cairns and sat onboard a crowded aircraft for over 3.5 hours before taking off. Horrible flight. My almost second time was scheduled from Sydney to Hobart. After informing Queue Line attendant my flight was in 35 minutes, from late connecting flight , told to wait until I reached head of line where I naturally was told flight was missed and I could go later arriving sometime next day in Hobart. I passed and went on Qantas . Totally not impressed with my experience
Imagine economy class for 10 hours with 30 inches of pitch and an even smaller screen to have trouble watching this limited IFE.
I think I would rather take a Hokulea.
Oh dear. You’ve sold me – to avoid Jetstar long haul. The product looked like a reasonable, if dated, PE product, but the other passengers…. I recall a flight from HKG-BOS in PE that was otherwise ok, apart from some “we normally fly business” passengers seeking special treatment. Looks like it’s Hawaiian or QF for the trip to Hawaii
Good review 👍🏴
Hilarious! Having recently having had my appendix removed, this looks much more painful.
Insightful, funny, disturbing…. A great review! Thank you.
Don't complain about the food, last time I flew Honolulu to Sydney on Jetstar there was NO food even if pre ordered, the crew couldn't speak english and the plane was full of screaming kids
I just flew them return to bali. I suggested to people fly Qantas as the real only difference you pay for is the seat. Alcohol food everything is free on Qantas.
Jetstar have a really bad on time departure record too.
I did my own video https://youtu.be/4ofZKqF8V2Q
Stunning scenery in Honolulu! Expect it would’ve been ok without the other passengers! Fancy having the cheek to ask your neighbour if they ‘plan to use alcohol’ and if you can wear a mask whilst eating! 🤪 Speechless! I agree with others on here that say she should have moved seats instead! Looks like a traumatic experience! 😩
