Fujisawa:
From the Tokyo Metropolitan area, Fujisawa Station is served by the Odakyu Enoshima Line, JR Ueno Tokyo Line, and the JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line. Direct trains from Shinjuku Station, Shibuya Station, Shinagawa Station, Tokyo Station, and Ueno Station take around 1 hour. In addition, the Enoshima Electric Railway (Enoden Line) connects Fujisawa and Kamakura in just 30 minutes. Transportation to/from airports is also convenient, with direct buses from Narita and Haneda airports. Located to the north of the region, Shonandai Station is served by the Sagami Line and the Yokohama Municipal Subway. Transportation from Yokohama is also convenient, with direct trains from Yokohama Station, Kannai Station, and Sakuragicho Station taking only 30 – 40 minutes.

Zushi:
The closest natural beach to Tokyo, Zushi is typically a bit quieter than Kamakura and Enoshima although it will get quite crowded at times. One of the most convenient beaches to reach from Tokyo, you can reach Zushi in just under an hour from Tokyo Station.

Enoden:
The Enoshima Electric Railway or Enoden (江ノ島電鉄, Enoshima dentetsu) is a private railway in Japan which connects Kamakura Station in Kamakura with Fujisawa Station in Fujisawa, Kanagawa. Stations en route include Hase, the stop closest to Kōtoku-in, the temple with the colossal outdoor statue of Amida Buddha. The railway is fully owned by the Odakyu Group of companies.

The route is 10 kilometers (6.2 mi) long and has a rail gauge of 1,067 mm (3 ft 6 in). It is single-track; however, five of the route’s fifteen stations are equipped with passing loops, allowing for the operation of bi-directional traffic. Included in the route is a short (450-metre (1,480 ft)) section of street running between Koshigoe and Enoshima stations. However, the entire line is governed under the Railway Business Act (鉄道事業法, Tetsudō Jigyō Hō) of the Japanese government, being granted an exception to allow for street running (the only other examples of street-running ‘railways’ being the Keihan Keishin Line, Keihan Ishiyama-Sakamoto Line and the Kumamoto Electric Railway). Trains are electrically powered from 600 V DC overhead lines. The section from Kamakura Station to Koshigoe is in the city of Kamakura; that from Enoshima to Fujisawa Station is in the city of Fujisawa.

  1. TS is our eye through which we are watching japan everyday like we are living there….one of the most beautiful country in the world… Country need to be visited at least once in a life….

  2. Another Rainy Day Drive! Yes!!!! And somewhere I have been! At about 1:40 the road passes over an underpass walkway, that leads from Enoshima Station (to the left, up a street full of cool little shops), to the walk out to Enoshima Island… There are more Stairs on that Island than I wish to remember! If I remember right, my phone told me I walked UP 42 flights of stairs that day – but there was a really cool light show up there, an interesting italian restaurant, awesome views of Fuji back across the water, and a really cool sun set!

From the train, there was some nice, cruisey shore-breaks, all the way along the coast to 'Point C' on the map too – perfect for Long Boarding! Made me wish I had brought my wet suit and hired a board…

  3. I gotta bookmark this video and keep playing this all day long with a cup of coffee. It provides absolute comfort and calms, especially for those stuck inside their home for corona restrictions. Thank you for this video.
By the way, I found inquisitive things on the video at 7:59. American school bus! Is there any American school near there? I suppose it may exist.
