Myoko in Niigata Prefecture is a well-known ski resort and a popular destination in the wintertime, where you can enjoy skiing and other winter activities on fine powder snow, along with delicious local cuisine and hot springs in its traditional yet friendly Japanese atmosphere.
The easiest way to transport yourself to Myoko is via Shinkansen (Japanese bullet train). Board the Hokuriku Shinkansen from Tokyo station to Nagano, and transfer to the local train on the Kita-Shinano Line from Nagano to Myoko-Kogen.
Some accommodations offer a pick-up service from Myoko-Kogen station, or a local taxi can take you on the final stretch. (Approx.10 min., about ¥2000 by taxi).
