Ranked as the top 3 most scenic places in Japan, we think Miyajima is especially the best island in Japan of 2021.
With over 4.5 million visitors in 2019 that number decreased to less than half of that in 2020 and is plummeting even further in 2019. With domesticated deer friends, specialty food items and a giant tori gate under construction to soon be unveiled, we think Miyajima is the perfect place for everyone to visit now or when the borders open up in 2022.
